Fake 'good things'. If they were good things, why did we have so many riots after those elections and eventually a tribal coup.

There was nothing good about the 1st republic. The 1st coup just exacerbated an already terrible situation. There was already resentment everywhere in the polity.

The only good days of Nigeria was before those first elections. After the election and everyone saw the way things actually were and how they were going to be, no one wanted it.

I was expecting to see an igbo man running the North, but no, it's the South and West that has allowed other tribes, the North brought tribalism and bigotry and spread it to the whole country.

Somebody should stop this nonsense. Cooperation is for sophisticated humans with education and humanity. It is hard for uneducated people to live in peace when there is no proper boundary.
You educated ones are the problem of the uneducated ones. On the street, the uneducated ones live in harmony but here on nairaland for example, educated ones behave like cow. How dare you say the uneducated one when you know the educated ones have robbed them of their right and influence them to fight whoever is not of their tribe.

This tribalism is the reason we are still where we are.

The white man has given us a unifying language in
a country with close to 700 ethnic groups. We are not in the tower of babel situation, I wonder why we can't appoint people in positions based on merit, we appoint and vote based on religion and ethnic sentiment. We vote incapable people because they are from our place even tho there are better candidates than him.

I look forward to a time when a non indigene of a state can contest elections in that state based on the number of years he has lived there, I look forward to such a person winning the election because of their capabilities.

We should wake up and work for the Nigeria of our dreams.

You better wake up from these dreams.

If they were educated no one will be able to influence them. Almost every killing is caused by uneducated people. Can anyone influence you to kill your fellow man ?
Why?
Because your mind is sophisticated which is a result of being an "educated" person.
You said they live in harmony but fight and communal clashes is often the order. Wake up.

exactly the question I ask on here all the time

can a Yoruba man be Governor in Anambra, or can an Igbo man be Governor in Lagos

if most people will say that they can't because they aren't from a certain tribe, then really, why are we ONE NIGERIA?

Nigerians are soo illogical, it hurts, like it physically hurts

In today's politics

-Yoruba can give Hausa and Igbo chances being most accommodative tribe in Nigeria

-Igbo can give Yoruba chance to reciprocate the chance Yoruba gave them but will never allow Hausa man just because of Biafra war of 1967

-Hausa/Fulani will surely give Yoruba chance cos they trust themselves in fact it seems Hausa and Yoruba originated from the same place Ni,the cooperation btw them cannot be value, but can never give Igbo chance cos they can betray them, they know Igbo always like to dominate anywhere they are, they install Igwe and Obi in another man's land without consulting the owner of the land and they will claim the territory in the future. Also cos of the first coup which eventually divides Nigeria till date.

The only way to have peace in this nation is to allow Igbo to go...simple

U are actually an epitome of the nepotic and dysfunctional nigerian society.

Did u read the article at all
