Direct And Indirect Primary Elections: Which Is Better? by Amba555(f): 5:27pm On Oct 03, 2018
Just curious, direct primaries adopted by political parties recently is it the best?

What's the difference between direct and indirect primary elections?

Someone should throw more light...which is better?

Direct primary is when general electorate votes their choice. Currently Nigeria parties are opting for closed primaries among party members. Its better because the people have their vote and the candidates isnt imposed on them.

Indirect primaries are when party leaders select a guy. The pick their guys behind closed doors usually. Then they present them for general election.

Direct Primary ofcourse. It is like voting in the General Election but restricted to Party Members. It gives members sense of belonging and create awareness, mobilisation ahead of the main election.

Indirect Primary is done by delegates usually not elected , but by the virtue of their positions in the party and govt. It creates room for corruption and enrichment of delegates
