There is much disagreement in the church concerning tithes and offerings. There are some evangelists and pastors who will all but promise a 30/60/100 return on your donation. This is total abuse of the trust of all who put their trust in their clergy. While tithes and offerings are important, God is not going to prosper you for that kind of giving. Your tithe goes towards the salary of your clergy and staff and the operating expenses of the church and property. They are important. Your tithe should be based, not on a flat 10%, but on the performance of your pastor. Like any other business, the better job he does, the more he should be paid. But, God doesn’t care about your money. He neither wants or needs it. What he wants is your heart and soul. What he wants is your true love and total trust. If you will give him those things which he wants, then he will indeed prosper you. He will prosper you as no man, family, company, corporation, city, county, state or country can. You will literally be given the keys to the Kingdom and you will never be in want again. There is a catch, however. He will not accept part of you. He wants all of you or nothing at all. |
