Breaking: FG Drags Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremmadu To Court... The deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, and Senator Bassey Akpan, who represents Akwa Ibom north-east senatorial district, have been charged to court by the federal government for allegedly refusing to declare their assets to the special presidential investigation panel for the recovery of public property. The Punch reports that two separate sets of charges were instituted against the senators on Wednesday, October 10, before Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja. However the court reportedly ordered that charges and other accompanying papers be served on the the lawmakers through substituted means by the clerk of the National Assembly.
