They won't send you a physical letter. They will send the Packet 3 to your email instead. Send them an email to confirm that they've received your casefile, they should respond within one week.
Bro I have sent them an email,I tracked the visa case and it shows that is is ready for interview. Can I go for medicals right now without hearing from them?I have not schedule an appointment as well or fill the DS 160.
Please kindly advice on the next thing to do.

I don't know the timeline for medical interviews over there in Germany. In Lagos Nigeria, its advisable to schedule an interview date before going for medicals. The interview date is usually scheduled such that it is at least 2 weeks after the medicals. This is because it takes a minimum of 2 weeks for the medical results to be out. I however learnt it takes lesser days for Abuja. So for Germany, it might be shorter or longer.

Concerning when to schedule a date, its always best to wait to get the go ahead from the embassy. You've sent them a mail, you'll get a response in a weeks time. Some people however go ahead and schedule without getting the go ahead, this works most of the time but it has its risk. This is because there are few occasions where the embassy have some issues with the casefile and sends it back to NVC for correction.

I am happy to have found this thread.. Am new on nairaland though.. Please can someone help me out here.. My fiancé filed for K1 visa and has received the approval on 30th of August, meanwhile in the approval it is stated that the petition has been forwarded to Nigeria consulate but I haven't received any mail.. Am guessing it's still in NVC. Please what should I do? Wait? Call them?

@gladeria,

Tell your Fiance to call the NVC and confirm if it has been sent and when it was sent to the American Consulate in Nigeria.

Cheers!

My k1 visa NOA2 has been approved thank GOD on Aug 29,2019 but I got mail Sept 9th. I didn't know it will be this fast cos it was filled in May 16th,2019 and NoA1 in Jun 03,2019. NOA2 petition will expire on 28 December, 2019.

My problem now is I'm very worried cos my fiance and I planned going to South Africa in November just vacation cos we've been in Nigeria together 3times and dubai 2 times. I applied for SA visa August 30,2019 in Abuja just few days before xenophobia saga began and my goodness I heard it takes months before passport is returned. If I had known my NOA2 will come so fast I wouldn't have applied.

Please should I go back to Abuja to apply for withdrawal? Because I need my passport to complete my process once I hear from NVC.

Please gurus in d house advise me ooo
Re: USA Fiancee (K1) Visa Thread by LegitBachelor: 3:57am On Sep 12
@Attraction, it might take a while before you get an interview date. So it depends on when likely you think the South Africa Embassy will give you your passport (with the visa). If it'll be done by October (or even November) then I'd say no problem as interview dates for October is almost filled up (if not filled up already) so the passport is of no use to you till after October (or November).

So my advice is this. Don't worry about the passport. Just track your K1 casefile with the US Embassy to be sure its with them and that its ready to be scheduled for interview (it may take up to a month before NVC sends your casefile to the Embassy). Then send an email to the Embassy requesting confirmation and a go-ahead to schedule an interview (it may take a week to get the go-ahead from the Embassy). Once you get the go-ahead from the Embassy, make necessary payments at gtbank (you can use photocopy of your passport at the bank), fill the DS160 form and then check for interview dates. By then I'm guessing October dates will be filled up and only November and December (or even January) dates will be available. Then pick the available date (don't worry if you couldnt pick a date before the December expiry date, the most important thing is that you did the scheduling before the expiry date). Then walk in to the approved clinic for your medicals (for Lagos this should be done at least 2 weeks before your interview date, for Abuja it can be one week although walk-ins are not allowed and an appointment has to be scheduled with them). However note that you will need your passport for the medicals. So if you think you will not be able get back your passport 2 weeks before the interview date, then you can initiate the move to retrieve it.

Please I need your help and advice on this matter. I and my fiancé received this email this morning from the USA consulate general in Lagos Nigeria.

Dear DICKSON OGAH ABU:

We write to inform you that the U.S. Consulate Lagos has received your petitioner's income related documents. Unfortunately, the I-134 contains language that indicates your petitioner will not support you financially until you become a U.S. citizen or work 40 quarters. Both you and your petitioner must read affidavit of support details on multiple U.S. government websites, including uscis.gov and travel.state.gov Currently, your file is incomplete and it expired on September 7, 2019. It will benefit you to follow U.S. government directions concerning the I-134 form, which is a legal document. In the meantime, this case will remain under administrative processing.

Meanwhile, we are returning your international passport to the DHL PICKUP Facility/GSS Document Collection Center for retrieval. You can visit the DHL PICKUP Facility/GSS Document Collection Center – DHL, Plot 230 Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos any day Monday through Friday.

Sincerely,

My questions is, can we resend the correct documents even though the file has expired? Or what can we do? Cause my fiancé has the financial ability to support me till I get my adjustment of status sorted out but it's the way she filled the form that brought about the error. Attached is the part they said shows her lack of commitment to support me.

No problem. Once your perition has been approved, you are to provide your updated info (passport no, email address, date of birth, place of residence, etc) together with yiur fiance's to NVC. Also you'll provide same to the Embassy at the appropriate time. The new passport number is also what you'll use while filing your DS160 and while scheduling for interview date.

@DicksonOgah, I think the Embassy don't believe you guys really love each other. I also think they feel your application is fraud. So I advice you do an introspection to know if you guys really love each other. If the answer is yes, then be ready to fight till the end. Resend the i134 and request an extension of your expiry date immediately. If the answer is no, I advice you come clean and end the application process so that you'll not be in their bad record....for future purposes.

I don't think that was the set-back to his approval.

I think the issue is with the affidavit of support letter and expenses.

Based on the letter of the affidavit of support it's indicating that his fiancée cannot support him on her own. She is stating that some of the financial support will come from other family and church members.

I also hope that other people who will add to his financial support along with his fiancee also added their tax returns to help with the affidavit of support.

Yeah I might be wrong. But I know the Embassy might not tell you their suspicion until they've gotten an incontrovertible evidence to proof their case.

I think they are suspecting fraud but don't have full evidence.

The reason I'm saying this is because what his fiancee typed on the AOS is suggestive of fraud. The problem is not that her family members are also supporting (afterall, they can always support as cosponsors). The problem is that she's saying she will only support him with $150 until he's able to fend for himself. That's wrong. That means she doesnt want to be fully liable to him. There's not supposed to be any condition attached to an AOS at all. If you truly love each other then be ready be 100% responsible to each other financially and dont limit your liability to $150 per week. Saying that you will support him with a stipulated amount or saying you will support him till he gets his greencard is suggestive of fraud to me.

These are my thoughts anyway. I could be wrong.

Choice of words! I'm very sorry this happened to this him but I think he should have researched things on the form he wasn't clear about. I can tell you that my fiancee made the same mistake of putting "to provide me with board blah blah blah". Something little less convincing of showing financial commitment towards me, but of course she had no problems supporting me with any and everything. I was unsettled with her write up so I got digging. There's a right way to filing this legal docs. I lifted it. So i think the right word would have been to support him with everyting till citizenship or full time work, as the form says.

Yeah choice of words. Those guys take choice of words seriously. This is because Those documents are legal documents and could be tendered in Court.

The Affidavit of Support document is a very powerful document for the US government as it puts full responsibility of the immigrant on the person bringing him or her in. It removes liability from the government and puts it squarely on that US citizen.

And the funny thing is that he did not have to write anything. I did not even tick anything on item number 38 on page 4.

I simply typed

'N/A (FILING I-129F FOR MY FIANCE TO BEGIN K1 VISA PROCESS FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE).'.

That's why it is good to look at sample forms or ask questions when filling those forms.
