Even India that is predominantly hindu haven't vomited this much bile of an excuse and to make matters worse, 90kmph will kill both the cow and it's ancestors if they wander into the tracks.

But on a serious note, measures should be taken (and enforced) to prevent indiscriminate movement of cattle through sensitive locations. As a protective measure also, I see no reason why a responsible leadership cannot place fences around airport runways and train tracks to prevent potential catastrophe.

Some 10 years ago, an aircraft slammed into a herd of cattle which invaded the runway at PHC International; luckily it was a very large plane so the effect wasn't catastrophic on the plane. We keep getting cases of herd of cattle invading roads, schools, stadiums etc. and posing serious safety concerns. Of course it's until the family members of some paramount ruler is killed in one of these avoidable traps, that's when the authorities would take action.

Nigeria's minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed that the Abuja-Kaduna rail line cannot run faster than 90Km/hr because the ministry does not want locomotives to kill cows.

PoliticsNGR learned that Amaechi made this comment while speaking on the complications the Nigerian government faces while making concessions.

He broke down the various problems being faced by the Country's rail system adding that Nigeria has more than enough to transport via rail.

In his words;

"The reason why we want to go back to narrow gauge is because between Lagos and Kano, we have 30 million tonnes of cargo. Even if you do three rail lines, it cannot be enough.

It took us 14 days to move coaches from Lagos to Abuja; everyday we go and ask, how far, they say we are near Ogun state… 14 days.

But if it were rail, the same day, it will get to Abuja. The kind of construction we are doing is 120 kilometers per hour (Km/h), it is a speed train.

We are doing 90km/h with Abuja to Kaduna, the reason we are doing 90km/h is because there are cows everywhere, and we don’t want to kill cows. The other day they tried 100 and they killed how many cows, and they said ‘you people should replace the cows you killed.

From that day, I have said let us maintain the 90km/h; at 120km/h you get to Kaduna in one hour. You can work in Kaduna and live in Abuja. It was initially one, but now, we have done four locomotives with 14 coaches."

What are cows doing on railways?

He didn't even say we will damage the trains, or put passengers at risk

When did cows become so sacred! We have also overtaken India in holding cows sacred

Some people condemning Amaechi are still Artikulating for another Cow Breeders (Miyetti Allah's member).
You all should notice he's not saying anything about what he'll do Fulani herdsmen because they are moving around with his cows, yet, those that call some tribe Fulani slaves are the ones fronting for him.

Its only in naija that this kind of shit obtains.

It goes far to show our kind of leadership. Does America bother about the number of cow killed by trains.instead, if a train kills your livestock you will be prosecuted for negligence and an attempted terrorism.

Our country is now a cow's country and it is not funny.
