Self-Made But Only the Successful Would Admit It You see, people who earn large incomes are not lucky and are not crooks as poeple with no money often say, nor are they endowed with more brains or talent necessary than friends or neigbhours, nor are they in occult secret and onlt a very few were lucky enough to have rich fathers or grandfathers. Most of the people earning the big income today started the way you and 1 did.

Atiku was never born with a silver spoon. Atiku’s father was an itinerant trader who traveled from one market to another selling imitation jewelry, caps, needles, potash, kola nuts and other nick-knacks which he ferried around on the back of his donkey. He also kept some livestock and cultivated guinea corn, maize and groundnuts. His mother Aisha Kande, was born in Jada. Her father was also an itinerant trader.

Atiku assisted his father on the farm and with the livestock. When he was old enough, he would take the cows and sheep to the fields to graze and bring them back home at sunset. He also helped in fetching firewood for cooking and for night-time illumination. Like most Nigerian villages then, they had no electricity or running water.

Sometimes, it was his duty to feed the animals with hay or to give them water to drink or potash to lick. He enjoyed these chores and considered them real fun. He learned to ride horses and donkeys which my father used to transport goods to the various markets but despite all the hassle he bought his mother a house at age 15 with nine(9) pounds sterling.

The Only difference with men who earn big incomes and those who earn small income is that those earning big incomes decided to earn more. They are the people who made it their business to earn more. Atiku And Obi Remain Beacons Of Hope For Our Lost Generations

You see a woman who never thinks of baking a bread tonight, will never think of going to the market to buy ingredients for bread. Without the decision for bread there is no motivation for going to the market. A man who never think of travelling, will never think of getting google maps or a description to travel. A man hasn’t decided to earn more money, will never think of learning how??. Atiku has seen where he his now long before today.

So get rid of the ancient superstition that people who earn big money are special people or lucky or had money to begin with or knew someone or are smarter. This are old alibis which can be disapproved a thousand times. The reason why there are so many of this alibis around is that men who failed to make it financially are seldom enough to just admit that they really didnt try.

WE ARE ALL SELF-MADE BUT ONLY THE SUCCESSFUL ADMIT IT.
