Pakistan's annual budget is about 60 billion USD, which is roughly three times the size of Nigeria's annual budget of 22 billion USD.

Nigeria must diversify away from oil, in order to become wealthy enough to build fighter jets and advance towards industrialisation.

The comments so far shows how ignorant many Nigerians are. Some are talking trash about buying weapons from "ordinary islamic" Pakistan, while others are blabbing about bombing Israel. Religious bigotry and hate is now so common that it pervades every national issue. One would expect sane people to be more concerned about the efficiency of the JF-17 (which is a 70% Chinese plane by the way) instead of the country of origin.

Whether the jets are from Muslim Pakistan or Buddhist China or Christian Russia or Jewish Israel, what matters most is the technical capabilities.

The JF-17 is a good warplane, far better in terms of aerial superiority than the fan-nose crop dusters we purchased for an over bloated price from the US.
It's really painful reading the sort of comments that litter this forum these days. You could open a thread and even on page 4, you're yet to count up to 3 meaningful posts; the comments are just a reflection Nigeria's pathetic educational system.

pakistan has been making military hardware for a while now and have been very successful --we obviously have a lot to learn from them

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defence_industry_of_Pakistan

By early 2000, in a joint project with China led to the development of the JF-17 Thunder fighter and the Al-Khalid Tank. Pakistan also has taken major steps to becoming self-sufficient in aircraft overhaul, modernization and tank and helicopter sales and a transfer of technology with France led to the construction of the Agosta B-90 Submarine in the late 1990s and early 2000s and is currently[when?] participating in many joint production projects such as Al Khalid 2, advance trainer aircraft, combat aircraft, navy ships and submarines.

Your knowledge of world affairs is poorly limited

This is a country that built its own nuclear weapons

How many countries can boast of that?

God bless Mr president, this is quite different from fake transactions of arms purchase of Dasuki and co . They bought refurbished military hardwares to the country where they bought anything at all..meanwhile they collected bilions of dollars for the purpose..am so sure the military won't forget your impact in a jiffy .

Online ranting and spreading of falsehood is the hallmark of Nandi Kanu and his ipob followers. Israel have been and will continue to be a very strong ally of Nigeria, even during the dark years of brutal military dictatorships, the Israelis were solidly behind Nigeria. I wonder where you think false info will take you. Lai Mohammed never said that, he debunked that deliberate falsehood by Nnamdi Kanu followers. Your Nnamdi Kanu is absolutely harmless to Nigeria, he is incapable of inflicting any harm on Nigeria. Online “ranting” is all you guys do.

How can Nigeria attack a country that provides the weapons and surveillance equipment used by the DSS and tactical units in the country? How and just how?

Even a retired Israeli General once said in an Al-Jazeera documentary that many of the countries that criticize Israel openly send their military advisers in secret, begging for advice on how they can copy Israel's methods in dealing with domestic insurrection in their countries.

If you know, you know.
They know it's only a joke no country can attack Israel let alone Nigeria, for Israel and Nigeria to go for battle is like comparing America and Ghana.
