- A group of Igbo youth has called on IPOB leader, Kanu to caution himself

- It also disassociated itself from Kanu's recent directives of no election in southeast

- It said the directives were to disenfranchise Igbo from voting who they want in 2019

The Coalition of Igbo Youths (CIY) has called on the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu to toe the path of self-caution or meet strong opposition, New Telegraph reports.

The group said this on Sunday, October 28, in a statement jointly issued after a monthly meeting held in Abakaliki by the national president of World Igbo Youth Congress (WIYC), Mazi Alex Okemiri, National Leader SouthEast Women Professionals (NLSEWP) Helen Ogbonnaya and President Igbo Students Forum (ISF) Chidera Utucha.

Legit.ng gathers that the coalition said that Kanu has lost relevance in the southeast region of the country.
It also accused Kanu of compromising the Biafra struggle for personal gain, adding that any attempt by the runaway IPOB leader to disrupt election in the region will be met with strong opposition.

The coalition also warned that it is unbecoming of Kanu, adding that the no election order given by the IPOB leader is to disenfranchise Igbo people from participating in the 2019 election.

It also accused Kanu of working for the 2019 victory of Governors Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Sen Hope Uzodinma of Imo states and President Muhammadu Buhari against Atiku in the 2019 presidential election.

It said: "The coalition of Igbo Youths and women who earlier drummed support for Nnamdi Kanu’s return to Nigeria had disassociated themselves on his recent broadcast of no election in 2019.

“The coalition in the end of its monthly meeting In Abakiliki dissociated itself from Kanu, saying that IPOB leader is depreciating in value in the eyes of Igbo followers.

“Coalition of Igbo groups believe that with the reappearance of Kanu now and his system of no election in 2019, shows that he’s working for the victory of Governors Ikpeazu of Abia, Umahi of Ebonyi, Ugwuanyi of Enugu and Sen Hope Uzodinma of Imo states.”

"Kanu have been compromised and he has designed no election to pull out voters out of polling units for the victory of southeast governors and President Buhari against Atiku.”
