Street hawking has become a vice in our society today which poses threat to the moral standard children involved in it.

Though one of the major reason of street hawking is due to lack of employment which has become a means to earn a living by so many individuals in the society today but that doesn't outweigh it's danger in the society.

Some of it dangers as I highlight are

1. It exposes children who are not well mentally and physically mature to a life they didn't bargain for as most of them are been exploited and raped.

2. Most of the victims of street hawking who predominantly children are denied better education because of they are always on street hawking when they are supposed to be in the classroom studying.

3. Statistics has shown that most children involved in street hawking lacks better parental care as this leads to societal breakdown because some of them tend to take to violence, stealing and prostitution.

4. Street hawking keeps a city or town untidy with a very bizzare sight as most of them are seen on the ever busy roads and street loitering about.

Street hawking also poses great threat to the hawkers themselves as not quite long I saw an awkward sight of one of them been knock down by a vehicle while running on a road to meet up a bus to sell to a customer.

Indeed street hawking should be discouraged in a sane society as the practice endangers lives, causes increase in child molestation, increase of rape cases,

Some of the ways to proffer solution to this nefarious act is to

1. The government should pass it into law to arrest any parents who child is involved in it and should be fine accordingly.

2. Some of the street hawkers complains of not having a good market place and cost of rentage , so I also urge government to build more markets with lots of side attraction at an affordable price to encourage this street hawkers to leave the street.

3. The kind payment for these shop rentage should be installement maybe within the period of six(6) months or a year to complete payment.

4. I also plead with the government to also give free education with better learning standard as this will also discourage most parents of sending their wards to the street to hawk instead to the school since it is free.

5. The government should be made to pass a law against street hawking and also there should be proper supervising council or body to arrest and prosecute anyone who found wanting.

6. More employment opportunities should be created to enhance the standard of living and also discouraging street hawking.

There should be a campaign against it to sensitize the general public about the hazards caused by street hawking.
