The Lagos-Benin expressway is one of Nigeria’s most traveled roads. Daily, hundreds of thousands of Nigerians ply this economically crucial highway.

This highway primarily connects states of the South-West to states in the South-South, South-East and the Middle belt.

For decades, the Lagos-Benin Expressway – especially the Benin-Ore stretch – was notorious for its atrocious condition and the neglect by successive Governments.

In 2011, the reconstruction of the Lagos-Benin Expressway commenced.

In 2014, the reconstruction of the Benin-Ore section of the Lagos-Benin Expressway was completed.

See Photos Of The Reconstructed Benin-Ore Road by the Goodluck Jonathan Administration HERE

Ostensibly, due to the change of government, the second phase of the reconstruction work on the expressway – specifically, the Ore-Sagamu section – suffered some delays. However, work eventually commenced there, though at a very slow pace.

Motorists plying that route complained of the horrific condition of the Ore-Sagamu axis of that road. The road is characterized by innumerable amount of potholes, some of them, crater-size.

However, the Federal Government recently offered the Sagamu-Ore highway a palliative intervention.

The Buhari-led government recently embarked on a project on that stretch of the highway to rid the roads of as many potholes on it. Some theorists speculate that this particular intervention effort has everything to do with electoral campaigns for the 2019 general elections.

That notwithstanding, Autojosh.com went on a drive along the Sagamu-Ore axis of the Lagos-Benin expressway.

We can authoritatively confirmed the patch work on this very busy stretch of the road.

Driving on the Sagamu-Ore expressway is still a very turbulent experience, however a significant amount of the dangerously-positioned potholes have indeed disappeared from the road.

See some photos of the road below.

So the roads should have been left unattended. I am still surprised how the road was never really completed in all 16 years of the PDP amidst the oil boom.

Wailers will always wail, if they don't wail, they will have malaria at the end of the day, so it's understandable!

Some people ask; where are the President's achievements? Well, if they are of such mindset, unfortunately they can't be helped. We don't have the authority to mix spittle with clay, put on their eyes, and direct them to go to Siloam pool, wash, and come back seeing. Once anybody decides to be willfully blind, no matter what you push in front of his eyes, he wouldn't see. If he decides to be willfully deaf, even if there are thunder strikes by his ears, he won't hear.

GOD BLESS OUR PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI.
END OF DISCUSSION!!

If you talk of Binin Ore exp. way, no government has done it better than GEJ.

We Igbos uses this road more than any tribe in Nigeria and we know better .

If they can do this on 9th mile -otukpo road....i bet you ,we will value it as 8 new lanes. But police and road safty will want the road to remain like that because they are making money from there without effort to stop any car. from one check point you see another one and in between 3 police check points you see road safty. You can't remove the check point because of boys. Each police check point is 100 naira.
