Road Ring, Benin-city, otherwise referred to as Kings Square or Oba Ovoranmen Square, is located in the heart of the Edo state capital.

Ring Road was the place where the colonial masters used to hold court. It was used as a center for recruiting soldiers during the colonial era. It was there the late Dr. Samuel Ogbemudia was recruited into the military after he watched a military parade at the field.

Ring road, Benin city was rebuilt to its present status by Dr. Ogbemudia when he became military administrator. The field there now houses the Benin Musuem.

All roads leading to Benin City from the east, west, north or south terminated at the Ring Road.

Some of the roads were part of the nine ancient roads that led to Benin when it was capital of the ancient Benin Kingdom.

Right at the middle of the location is the Benin City National Museum. The Edo State Assembly is also located at Ring Road. The Palace of the Oba of Benin is just a stone throw from Ring Road.

Benin city is globally-recognized as a center of arts and culture, little wonder the state capital is adorned with beautiful works of arts.

See some of the artworks on display at Ring Road, Benin-City, Edo state.

Nice job, Autojosh! You've been coming up with threads from Benin city. Are you from there? Or did you perhaps grow up there? It doesn't matter anyway. Great job!

Nigeria HOAX. Not sure if it is right for us to pray that all of them should DIE. The bible even says, suffer not a witch to die. To me, a witch is defined as anybody in possession of an attribute that undermines the success of another. Therefore, it suffice to say that ALL NIGERIAN POLITICIANS ARE WITCHES. Note here, that both the male and the female are covered under this category.
They don’t want us to succeed.
They are looting us and feeding one person with millions a month, whereas many go to bed hungry everyday.
They are just a joke and they should die in their own laughter.
Everyday I read, listen to and watch videos confirming that NIGERIANS Ned help. There are people living in abject poverty, children are victimised daily as they go about trying to source for food.
I’m hurt and I’m pained and FIRE FALL ON ALL POLITICIANS IN NIGERIA including aspiring POLITICIANS who are caving their way in only for the loot.
Mtcheeeeeeeeew

@Autojosh dont forget to report on Benin nightlife before leaving the city. It is not enough to avail yourself of their women and not talk about it

Thanks for trying to paint Benin City in a good light.

I came here thinking I'll see art works... All I see are ugly masquerade statuses build by lazy sculptor.
All these ugly looking statuses should be demolish and Vaseline store should be build on those spot... it'll be more beneficial to humanity.

Just look at the way auto josh is painting Benin you will think is a place to be. But guys, most of you who have never been to benin please do not hallucinate about touring or even planning to travel there. they is nothing to write home about in benin. apart from this nonsense ring road you are seeing they is nothing more there to see.

But to those who feel is been long they see thatched or mud house be my guest in fact remember to visit first second and third secular road.
