Why can't we just separate religion from our education? This is an invitation to confusion and anarchy. They must approve ATR children wearing of cowries and beads too. All religious groups dressing must be allowed too and let's see what the end result will be. |

sirusX:I understand what you’re talking bro. But if you know the modus operandi of jehovah witness people, they always keep coming every Sunday until maybe you say some harsh words which I wouldn’t say coz of my cool attitude. But I always politely tell them I’m a Muslim but they keep coming. They will even tell you to confess your sins and accept the lord Jesus Christ. Although, I know it’s their own way of evangelism and since we’re all the same human we keep tolerating this even with a different faith. This is so among most people that live in the southwest Muslim and Christians alike . Now let’s say, a Muslim brother keep coming to your house every Sunday and reading from the Quran to you and telling you that you have to neglect your ways and follow the Quran. Then, you tell the person not to come back and the next week they keep coming back. Some Christians although not really from the Southwest will start screaming Islamization. Also, all through my secondary school days, we always observe prayers in the Christian way on mondays-thursdays , sing hymn , and only observe Muslim prayers just on Fridays. People never seems to shout Islamization then coz most Muslims parents do not tend to bother about that. Although, in the Southwest we don’t care about religion but some people from the other side have started trying to inflict the Christians here with the ideology of Islamization which is totally alien to the Yoruba doctrine of association. We are one Yoruba irrespective of religion differences. 5 Likes |

LuciferPreeqson:Have you ever seen Holy Mary picture or image without a cover or Jesus Christ picture or image without a beard? Islam Jihadists indeed. Christians are more fanatic than Muslims "Speaking from experience" Muslims individually own and uphold the custody of their Islamic religion while the pastors own the custody of Christian religion. Muslim individual anywhere in the world will not take shi.t as regards to his faith. Which in turn will be seen as extremist. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I AM WORRIED BY THIS DEVELOPMENT IN LAGOS STATE. THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO BE NEUTRAL AND UNIFYING. I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THE NATIONAL ANTHEM IS ENOUGH. LAGOS WILL SOON GO THE WAY OF OSUN STATE.....THE SOUTHWEST SCHOOLS USED TO MAINTAIN BALANCE, I HOPE ALL THESE NEW DEVELOPMENTS ARE NOT SIGNS OF IMMINENT DANGER OR SUBTLE INDOCTRINATION BY A PEOPLE, SECT OR RELIGION. IN EXPRESSING FREEDOM OF RELIGION AS A HUMAN RIGHT WE SHOULD NOT THROW OUR FAITH IN THE FACE OF OTHERS. 1 Like |

Show me hijab worn by an Arabian, that doesn't cover the chest of the wearer like in the photo you foolishly posted? OladimejiRufai: First it wasn't an attack, it was a question he asked. I wonder why you blame him for the perception. This is because it seems Islam is even confusing for Muslims themselves. Eg. There are past protests by women of the Middle East against the hijab so don't blame non-Muslims for the contradictions amongst muslims. You also said judge muslims by the rulings of Islam: OK. I'll go deep. Does every Muslim believe in jihad? Sultan of Sokoto has never criticised Boko Haram because they're actually not completely veering off the Islam scriptures. I read some book 'Beyond The Headlines ,Boko Haram' and I understood why terrorism is a bit of part and parcel of Islam because all their actions are guided by and quoted in the Quran. Don't be too offended cos that's the truth. UK and France especially have messed up and they know. 1 Like |

meforkene: Sultan of Sokoto has never spoken against them, u said, thinking u were raising points. But I want u to know that if there is something called chicken change, ur points can as well be described as chicken points. No 1. If Sultan of Sokoto has not spoken against Boko Haram, it does not NECESSARILY mean he supports them. Has he come out explicitly to say "I support them"? What if he is afraid? What if he does not have the time to criticize them? What if he decided not to do so because some other people have done it already? Now to futher burst ur bubble... again I repeat... lack of knowledge abt islam is one of the problems of people. Lemme now tell u something... Even if the Sultan comes out explicitly to say he supports Boko Haram, it still does not mean that is what Islam says. King Salman of Saudi Arabia, despite being the ruler of a country where shariah is the law and despite being the custodians of the two mosques, he shakes hand with women. Are u now gonna tell me since the king does it, then islam allows it? No. U see... what a person says does not count in islam. what the shariah says is what counts. what a person says can only count if he backs up his saying with evidence from Quran and Sunnah. So even if sultan supports boko haram, it still does not necessarily mean Islam supports it. this is common sense!!! And secondly u said u read a book.. imagine... Who wrote the book? I ask u Perhaps someone who is ignorant of the true Islam or confused like many of u here on nairaland wrote it and u think u can justify Islam with it Man... it is amazing, close to being a miracle how u could come up with "chicken points" believe me, this is the first time I see points as empty as this to be qualified to grab that title "chicken points" U can do better man but with sound knowledge!! 1 Like |

This might cause segregation amongst our children at a very young age. They will recognise Muslims and Christians in school, divide into religious social pairings, teach hate amongst themselves and engage in religious confrontation in school, something most commentators here did not experience. Most here at a young age in school knew about the other as a best friend, rather than by faith or tribe. My best friend in secondary school was my opposite in faith and tribe but we were inseparable and still friends till date. OladimejiRufai: Sultan is the 'custodian' of Islam in Nigeria. Why are you making excuses for the Sultan's absolute lack of criticism on the biggest challenge in Islam (being BHT) and the country at large. You said what if he's afraid. A topmost religious leader is afraid of speaking against the biggest threat to the religion he protects? Do you even listen to yourself? Then you said he doesn't have the time but makes out time to comment on Law school hijab and also when there were reprisal attacks on Fulani communities. About the book, 'Beyond The Headlines'..it was written by a group of authors, half were Nigerians and the others weren't. No one disputes the stance of the book cos it dealt with day to day happenings from origin of BH. You veered straight to insults without addressing properly the issues I raised. Do you even understand the Quran? Doesn't the Quran support and defend abduction of girls and enslaving them? Like I said, it's obvious understanding Islam is even more confusing to muslims themselves. I ask again Does every Muslim believe in Jihad according to Islam? Also bearing in mind that a lot of Northern muslims are illiterate and listen wholeheartedly to the Sultan, isn't it only right the Sultan condemns BH but then.... How many muslims condemn the ideology of Boko Haram? 1 Like |

Iblad0994: I am yoruba and christian and I also disagree with parts of your message but I am too tired to argue. Muslims can do what they want as long as they don't disturb the rest of the country. Our individual task is to be well off so we can be above societal trends. |
