My First post on Nairaland. Looking forward to sharing more on here.
- Aketi

Earlier today, I shared a thread on my https://twitter.com/RotimiAkeredolu/status/1062670077017886722 about how much we have spent as a state and yet, we have still be able to achieve landmark development. It hasnt been easy but we will continue to blaze the trail and continue to impact the lives of our people positively. All are welcome to read and discuss all the issues stated below;

When we took over government, we made it a priority to put public servants welfare first and I pledged on my first day in office to ensure that all salary arrears totaling 7 months will be fully paid. #AketiOnSalaries

We have been in government for a year and 8 months now and barring external circumstances, we have not missed any of our salary obligations. We have also been able to offset 5 out of the 7 months owed by the previous administration.

We will be offsetting another month of arrears this week and we are on track to clearing all outstanding by year end http://ondostate.gov.ng/Home/NewsItem/249f0ef6-4a6b-4988-8d1d-88b4a18795fa

This decision has taken a major strain on our state finances with us dedicating over 82% of net inflow on salaries. This includes all FG assistance. Ondo State has more than exceeded all expectations and we intend to do more.

Less than 15% of net inflow since this administration began has been injected towards capital projects yet, we have completed over 45km of roads and are on track to complete 70km by the end of our second year. #DevelopOndo

Our interventions in UBEC have led to the renovation of over 350 primary schools with another 200 still undergoing a makeover. By the end of our second year, we would have touched more than half of every primary school in the state. #DevelopOndo

I would be amiss if I failed to mention the milestones achieved in agriculture and our quantum of investments in land clearing to facilitate large scale agricultural investments. Our youths on the ridges program has trained new Agripreneurs. #DevelopOndo

We must also speak on the activities of our first lady who has so far empowered youths & women in 17 of 18 LGAs and has trained over 700 secondary school girls on how to be renewable energy entrepreneurs [READ] http://ondostate.gov.ng/Home/NewsItem/b73539bf-3fde-463c-9ac6-701865832328

Our activities continue to touch the grassroots with RUWASSA rehabilitating over 700 rural boreholes. Thousands more people now have access to clean water and this will grow as we are just one of 4 states to be a part of Partnership for Enhanced WASH (PE-WASH). #DevelopOndo

We have also met all counterpart financial obligations that have made us eligible for World Bank funded projects such as RAAMP (324km of rural access roads), NEWMAP (Erosion Control) and REDD+ (Forest conservation) #DevelopOndo

While the welfare of our workers is paramount, I believe we must also invest in our future. We will continue to build our IGR, promote partnerships for progress and save for the future because changing the lives of our people is a goal worthy of our best efforts.

Looking forward to reading a vibrant conversation about this.

What's Akoko Land Offence?

Owo- Akungba- Express rd is so bad!

There is a dual rd project going on at ikare

Oke-Agbe rd is bad

Akungba- Akoko despite hosting the first state university which is still running up till now and ODSG currently Review the School fees upward...
There is no project there at all....
We are paying for Darkness supplied by Bedc In Akoko land
Up till now Akungba-akoko kingship case is still stuck in court

Ese Odo is without light..

#why can't we merge all state universities in ondo as One using LASU as example?

Some press were barred from Alagbaka recently
We need to know the true version

# I wish we can talk to our leaders like this

But instead they turn their self to demi- God

Hi Lisaint,

Thank you for making your observations. As you know, it is impossible to address ALL issues at once considering our meager allocations. Like i had previously stated, we are using very little in an attempt to do a lot.

Regarding the Owo - Akungba road, although it is a federal road, our government has commenced the immediate repair of this road.

We even made it a point of emphasis when the senate committee on infrastructure came to visit that the FG should pay more attention to our roads but we will continue to intervene especially in dire situations such as is the case on the Owo - Akungba road.

With regards to projects ongoing in Akungba, we will continue to review our projects and will ensure that all parts of the state are touched. There is no offence by the people of Akungba.

Regarding power supply. We continue to interface with BEDC around allocating more power to Ondo State and also reconnecting parts of the state they've disconnected.

Even with these, we have started interventions around solar power in parts of the state and some communities in Akoko have been appraised for Micro-Grids. We anticipate that once an investor shows interest, we will be able to execute on solar projects in the area.

Regarding the ongoing kingship case, we are monitoring things but as a lawyer we dont discuss matters that are Sub-Judice (still in court). Once the courts have taken a stance, we should be able to address the situation accordingly.

#why can't we merge all state universities in ondo as One using LASU as example?

we keep complaining of lack of funds daily but it has become a common practice for all Ondo state governors to try too create an institution all in name of doing something for my hometown..... The more the institutions the more the we will keep complaining of lack of funds... Why can't we just merge all this institution together as one and save cost, 3 Uni= 3 governing council/ 3 different allocation Gov Akeredolu did an education summit when he came on board...... But with the way it seems it just as if nothing was recommended in the public institution again apart from #HikingOfFees

on minimum wage: I read a report on Naira land today that ODSG said #18k minimum wage is uncalled for..... But at the end the governor never seems to talk about how much he can pay, our Governors keep saying they can't pay #30k as minimum wage cause they don't have the financial power, This same Governors move about in long Convoy of vehicles, The governors are not ready to cut down their cost, but they will want the workers to be the one bearing it all

Our Governors cannot afford to pay #30k but our sch fees was increased from #30+ to #150k even when the state is owing civil servant
The government is not ready to increase minimum wage but the little our parents are collecting they still take it back in the name of Tax, Sch fees, Nepa bills etc
