That's the reason why many feel the war against corruption is nothing but a charade. The EFCC under Magu is an appendage of the ruling party, the most annoying thing is that they can't even pretend to be seen as fighting corruption. This is not the EFCC we all knew under Ribadu and Farida, for a head of an agency that ought to be seen as nonpartisan to be wearing the campaign lapel pin of the president openly on national TV leaves more questions than answers, in saner climes he ought to have resigned but in Nigeria resignation is an anomaly. This is the same EFCC that showed much gusto on Fayose's case(which I have no problem with) because if he has a case to answer then he should clear his name, but the sudden impotence they've developed concerning Ganduje's show of shame and other corruption matters relating to the members of the ruling party is shamefully disgraceful. We should all condemn evil when we see one not taking sides.
As Atifete Jagahja rightly said "Democracy must be built through open societies that share information. When there is information, there is enlightenment. When there is debate, there are solutions. When there is no sharing of power, no rule of law, no accountability, there is abuse, corruption, subjugation and indignation".
It is high time we as a people collectively demand more from our leaders. Anybody selling the idea of Corruption fight as a policy is bereft of ideas to govern a sane society, the fight against corruption should come naturally(default) in tandem with your blueprint on economy, security and the general welfare of the masses and this could only be achieved if institutions are built rather than individuals. It is amazing that candidates like Prof Kingsley Moghalu etal with sound ideas, clear economic blueprint and above all track record of performance are being relegated to the background in the political-cosmosphere while the worst of us in both major parties call the shots.

The point of this thread is to compare the way govt is handling the ganduje matter and how they handled fayose matter.

Freezing of Ekiti account was done while Fayose was a governor so we expect them to at least freeze ganduje's personal account if they don't want to touch the state's account.

If not for lack of job caused by Buhari govt perhaps you might have gotten something worthwhile and honorable to do to empower yourself and your family, instead you are here selling yourself cheap while sounding like Buhari's parrot this early morning

The most sickening part of all this is that you still have people voting for APC. This goes to show that we are in a complete mess.

How can any sane mind vote for APC at this point in time? What part of that person's mind is used for reasoning, the anus?

My last hope in this nation is the ousting of Buhari in 2019. If he wins then

Former Governor Ayodele Fayose has criticised President Muhammadu Buhari and the acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr Ibrahim Magu, for their refusal to investigate the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, over the bribes he allegedly collected from some contractors.

Fayose said Buhari and the EFCC boss had not hidden it from Nigerians that they were hypocritical in their war against corruption.

The former Ekiti State governor spoke through his media aide, Mr Lere Olayinka, in an interview with our correspondent in Lagos.

Recently, video clips surfaced online, alleging that the Kano State governor collected bribes in hard currency from a contractor.

Ganduje had, however, denied the allegations, describing the alleged bribery as the handiwork of mischief makers.

But Fayose argued that Magu gave himself out with the way he answered questions on the issue put across to him by journalists during a press briefing last week.

The ex-governor stated, “They will not do anything about the alleged bribery video. The last time the EFCC chairman addressed journalists, he was asked questions on the video and he parried the questions. He later said the matter was already in court and that the commission had not received any petition to investigate the allegation.

“The question on the lips of everybody now is that who petitioned the EFCC before they started investigating some of those being investigated?

“What has the EFCC done to the petitions against the All Progressives Congress leaders? Ekiti State House of Assembly submitted a petition against Dr Kayode Fayemi. What did the EFCC do about the petition? Fayemi was not governor then.”

Fayose said the same government that had refused to investigate the alleged bribery against a governor on the platform of the APC despite the documentary evidence available would not hesitate to wage war against members of the opposition even without any allegation against them.

He added, “In 2015, Buhari praised former Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso for transforming Kano State but the same Kwankwaso (now) is the one he openly accused of using public funds to fund presidential campaign. President Buhari went on to commend Ganduje; that he is a good governor and that the people love him. So, what do you expect from that kind of government?

“They won’t investigate Ganduje. What have they done to Babachir Lawal, the popular grass cutter? What have they done to the NHIS boss? That one was suspended and Buhari had to reinstate him. What have they done to Abba Kyari despite so many allegations against him?

If anybody thinks this government is fighting corruption, then that person needs to go back to sleep and wake up properly to know that he has been dreaming.

Fayose why cry the loudest?

The message President Muhammadu Buhari is telling you is serve your punishment for being part of the GANG that looted our collective commonwealth and rip off our treasury for 16 years.

If PDP gain power they are equally free to prosecute public office holders in the present ruling opposition party of APC.

The question is has the efcc ever gone against a sitting regime. The answer is no. At least in as much as they have been partial and selective this is the first time we have seen them work. Find out how rubadu was remove. Find out why farids was removed. Under Jonathan and yaradua regime respectively. Ask yourself what did obj used it for. My advice is this to you all in the north they are preparing for election why we in the south are as usual complaining and insulting. This will not win election. When PDP was in power they did not change the rules about efcc. Just like they used money and open rigging and you guys never complain today it's the stock in trade of the apc it has become a crime. Guys wake up and campaign for ur party on merit not hate

Before any useless Buharideen will shout IMMUNITY, was Fayose not a sitting governor when his Skye bank account was frozen?

Was Fayose not a governor covered with immunity when the other arm of APC called EFCC sent him a letter to report at there office?

Was the Benue state government bank account not frozen just because the useless EFCC claimed they were investigating their head?

This is triple standard self. I'm happy Atiku will win next year and all APC members who are part of this chain government will take refuge in the neighbouring African countries.

Fayose is an illiterate and frustrated brain. While he was covered by immunity, who went after him until his tenure expired?

Ganduje is covered by immunity and will answer the charges once out of office.
..becuz of people like you he'll fire will be full. It's not by force to contribute..where you in d land of the dead when fayose bank acct was frozen...? was he not a governor...

Guess you were busy crying over accident to you family members when OBJ forced ekiti state of assembly to impreach fayose in his first tenure, OBJ also forced plateau house of assembly to remove dariye, cuz of coruption, Jonathan made sure ibori was jailed cuz of coruption. Bay else assembly was forced by the presidency to impeach alamaiesieya cuz of coruption...

You see, dox governor's were all in d same party as d national govt, but we're still removed and jailed...but APC would never try such Evn in the face if overwhelming evidence..but they still shout. " PDP is corupt. And FOOLS like you swallow the bait.....grow up Mr man...

Also remember, lucky iginadion was also convicted of coruption hence his political career died prematurely.....

APC is just using the word " coruption to deceive, u, dey are in full support of coruption. Clean evidence was labelled against Tinubu nd quickly swept under d carpet......

Remember, OBJ fought atiku very hard to d applause of every nigerian for the same reason....at least PDP was doing something about it. APC will not and don't want care to do.....
