Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on Wednesday said his administration had produced a blueprint for the state to enhance its development.
The blueprint was tagged, ‘Blueprint to Progress’.
The governor also disclosed that his administration had signed many Memorandums of Understanding with several investors for economic promotion and employment generation in the state.
Akeredolu stated this at the opening ceremony of the development partners summit held at the International Events Centre, Akure.
The summit, which had many investors in attendance, was themed, ‘Partnership for Progress.’
He said, “It is imperative that we re-engineer the economy and place it on a trajectory of sustained growth.”
“Our focus is to ensure rapid growth, development and sustainability of the economy. We have developed the ‘Blueprint to Progress,’ a policy document which encapsulates the five cardinal programmes of this administration.”
In his remarks, the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, who was represented by the Director-General of the National Information Development Technology, Dr Issa Ibrahim, said Ondo State could not be pushed aside in the area of development in Nigeria, especially in education.
Also speaking, the state Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr Emmanuel Igbasan, said the government had put in place a development-friendly regulatory environment that would allow the private sector to thrive.
