The writer should correct this, it is not Benin Edo state but rather Benin Republic. French had nothing to do with Edo Nigeria. It was Benin republic which was colonized that they are returning the artefacts back to. Let us stop misleading the public.

It will be only foolish of Emmanuel Macron to return those artworks and also a gross violation of the French law that prohibits the government from returning State property.

Where will they even be kept?

In the Oba's palace I guess; where one of his wives can break them a fit of rage or where one of his sons or palace guards can sell them off.
They can even be gifted to politicians who come visiting.

Nigeria is not ripe for such returns.
The West should continue keeping our artifacts.
They are safer with them.

Ordinary Abacha's money that was returned can not be accounted for.
Let alone these artworks.

Oba please just face your Gelegele seaport and forget about these artifacts.

NIGERIA, a failed state.
BUHARI needs to move base to Borno just like Obama went to Afghanistan.
NYSC should be turned to military training exercise to prepare every citizen of the country for deployment.
CORRUPTION solve by decentralizing management of funds.
ELECTRICITY problem solved my dividing the country into cells and auctioned off to private providers.
UNEMPLOYMENT solved by statistics: every 40k inhabitants must have basic amenities; police stations, hospitals, schools, prison.

We need planners not politicians. Managers to money launderers.

King Tony for President✌

Nonsense..

The King was the state the same as President is state. Your culture comes from the Kings family and related nobles which are local chiefs. This includes language, art, craft, religion and those things essential to your people begun with the Kingship. Kingship was self rule and unity of a group. Autonomous groups of Africans were primitives and all groups that formed Kingship are the reason for great civilizations of Africa.

Edo empire really thrived

Such beautiful crafts that are centuries old.

Whereas some people don't have history. At least an outstanding one.

Which people are u referring to? don’t be afraid to mention names.

Calm down sir, the OP is confused, the original news was not referring to Benin Nigeria. The British stole from us not French.

French is talking about Benin Republic sir, and yes they have better structures in place to keep their stuff safe unlike naija

British and colonial troops stole them... Western Europeans are professional thieves... Africans are a great and powerful people... but there are a few areas of improvement though....
