He is accused of paying bribes to others in the government, such as former President Goodluck Jonathan, to ensure that process went smoothly.
Shell and Eni are accused of knowing the $1.1bn they paid to Nigeria would be used for bribes, claims based on the content of emails which have since emerged.

Having $100 dollar bills weighing up to 5 tonnes
5 TONNES!!!! is the weight equivalent of 100 bags of Cement, Imagine how much money in $100 note will weigh that much.

These are the type of reports we should be angry about, but we are more concerned about nonsense. MWe need to use our God given brains

TheGreenLand:
This unfolding scandal, which is being played out in an Italian court, has involved former MI6 officers, the FBI, a former President of Nigeria, as well as current and former senior executives at the two oil companies.
The former Nigerian oil minister, Dan Etete, was found guilty by a court in France of money laundering and it emerged he used illicit funds to buy a speed boat and a chateau. It is also claimed he had so much cash in $100 bills that it weighed five tonnes.

We all know who the former President is!
And imagine a former petroleum minister having so much cash in $100 dollars that it weighed FIVE tonnes!
Can you take a minute to comprehend what that means?!
They have finished this country!!! shocked

All corrupt politicians will all die painful death along with their slow thinking supporters no matter the party they are.

The best and the most productive years in the history of the nation was shared among themselves in billions of dollars with nothing to show for it in the country.
And they still want to come back?!
God forbid!

Thieves in every sector of the economy.......
This is what PDP wanted to turn Nigeria to assuming they won in 2015....

Smh the oil minister mentioned was Dan Etete
I guess he was a minister during PDP government too
When u become a zombie
U will stop using ur brains

Since u said God loved this country to the extent that he gave us Buhari. I have a short prayer for you, that may your life be like Nigeria under buhari.am waiting for your Amen.
kolaaderin:

All this PDP supporters don't read, most are just so brainless and will never read before commenting . PDP and GEJ are the real armed rubbers indicated in this scandal. And that yeye man wrote a whole text book without giving this scandal a single sentence for clarity. God really love this country in 2015 that he gave us Buhari and I have never regretted voting him and again he still got my vote.

The future of this country is already in their bank account.

But when will Nigerian political leaders stop this primitive acquisition of wealth? Nigeria is considered a poor/developing country because they refuse to spend the money meant for development judiciously.

A Nigerian is pushing this case for his own profit. The guy even tried twice to be admitted as an aggrieved party but was turned down by the court angry Ole! angry

This is not scam! angry The idiot who negotiated the deal was the real definition of an idiot! angry

It's just like signing up to selling your 7 bedroom duplex in Asokoro for 20 million Naira! angry No, they didn't scam you, you're an idiot! angry Just look for a nice place and kill yourself! angry

They should be talking about kickback and establish the case, not scam! angry That person who said it's scam towards the last paragraph should be... lipsrsealed angry

JustCare:
International politics is always a game of interest. Imagine foreign governments trying to scam Nigeria.

There's no integrity anywhere. The bigger the deal the higher the motivation to swindle. This is only one out of many, even the UK and US aren't saints either.

Oil Multinationals are fraud channels for foreign countries...
