The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has weighed in on the controversy  between Ahmadiyyah Muslims and the immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, accusing the latter of confiscating a parcel of land “belonging to Allah”.

Newsworth recalls that the Ahmadiyyah Muslims had organised a massive protest against Fayose in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, penultimate Saturday.

The group, under the leadership of Bashiru Alawode, accused the former Governor of forcefully taking over its land to build a petrol station for his son.

They claimed that an Ahmadiyyah mosque was built on the land since the early 40’s but was recently demolished because it was built with old moulded blocks, and to allow for the construction of a modern mosque to replace the old one.
