awelekiti: You continue to be wrong. I don’t need to follow the idiots visa process to understand basic US immigration policy. How much contact have you had with USEL, USCIS and Homeland Security? Again, just because the state department grants you a visa at a foreign outpost, even after stringent checks, does not mean you’ll be paroled onto US soil. Your Atiku alleged criminal could easily get a visa stamped on his passport in a ruse to get him onto US soil and then get hammered. He knows this and hence why he pointed his private plane from UK towards Nigeria and not towards Gander. And hurriedly I understand. Please don’t try to coach me on US immigration laws and process. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/frequently-asked-questions/what-is-us-visa.html “How Can I Use a Visa to Enter the United States? Having a U.S. visa allows you to travel to a port of entry, airport or land border crossing, and request permission of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) inspector to enter the United States. While having a visa does not guarantee entry to the United States, it does indicate a consular officer at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad has determined you are eligible to seek entry for that specific purpose. DHS/CBP inspectors, guardians of the nation’s borders, are responsible for admission of travelers to the United States, for a specified status and period of time. DHS also has responsibility for immigration matters while you are present in the United States.“ 1 Like 1 Share |

My dear Awelekiti. Obtaining a US visa is one thing, being allowed to enter from the point of entering is another matter. This is why people are deported if US border officer, known in Nigeria as (immigration officer) is not convinced about your intention. Serious background check and interview is conducted at the point of entering. Atiku should have been through with election and obtain presidential immunity if he wins, before thinking about US visit. A sitting governor has been jailed in the US before. The judiciary is very independent, unlike in Nigeria that predidency has influence every where 2 Likes |

awelekiti: I am cork sure you are ignorant of how things work, to start with People like Atiku having been a former VP of a recognize state like Nigeria does not NEED A VISA under normal circumstances, he should Benin possession of a diplomatic passport for life,on the flip side if he doesn't want to use the diplomatic route and want to travel as a private citizen, all he requires is just to make a contact to his required embassy,he will only walk in less than 24hrs and have his thumbprint taken where it is applicable and have his Visa issued under 3hrs. I Know high networth Nigerians who are no where near diplomatic route but have the same US Visa (long term) issued to them in the same way I just explained to you. stop twisting the fact,Atiku Has a case to Answer in the US and he can't afford to risk it |

buhariguy: Atikuloot is our brother and fellow citizen. He is our ex-president. He is some people's father, husband. Why would you wish that he goes to US? You want him to get arrested and jailed? Even the UK that he sneeked to, he had to quickly sneek back to Nigeria before Interpol lay hands on him. Atikuloot please don't go to US, we do not want our ex-president to be jailed in US. That will spoil the county's image. We have enough of your Biafran supporters in US jails for drug trafficking already. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Of course a case has not been legally established (Court Process) is still an allegation, but he can debunk such an allegation at the court in US if he's so sure of himself and the easiest way is to land himself in US and have His doubt cleared. |
Re: Atiku Returns To Nigeria, No Assurances Of Entering US Without Being Arrested by Nobody: 12:52pm On Dec 02, 2018 |

Keep fooling yourself. Here in the US, law enforcement are legally allowed to lie. Please stop. In many cases here the police already has a prime suspect that they watching, following, tapping phones, etc but they’ll still hold a press conference to say that they don’t have any credible suspect and still following leads. They do this to make the perpetrator feel safe so he can make a mistake. I can see all this with this Atiku business. A USC has already been convicted, they are simply luring him in. He should not go to the US because I don’t want my tax dollar used to feed him in jail. If he’s guilty but I believe that he’ll be arrested at the airport. |

EgunMogaji:ok. Your moniker has been marked. I'd come back to you once he goes and returns without facing what his enemies, including yourself wishes him. Buhari was much more condemned for his stance on boko haram and Islam. Suddenly , his life ban was waived and he could travel to the Chatham house and later USA prior to 2015 elections. Take a chill pill ok? |

Solatium:don't worry, he'd do all that, same way buhari did before 2015 elections and Aisha his wife, afterwards and had all doubts cleared. Don't be in a hurry. Cheers |

awelekiti: You’re taking this too personal, relax before you burst a blood vessel. Remember that you have a pathetic access to an even pathetic healthcare system. I don’t hold my public servants like a lord or master. Neither you, Buhari or Atiku means shyte to me. Buhari was allegedly banned because of I think human rights violations. Atiku is allegedly wanted to face criminal charges. I swear on my god that I will not explain the difference to you. You’re wasting your time saving my userid but you can if that’s how you roll. I never said Atiku can not visit USA. In fact I want him to go there and face his alleged case. That it satisfy the US government and they give him a waiver. Stay on one course, this one that you’re wandering all over the place like Alapandede. |

awelekiti:You can type all you want oga but like I said, issuing Atiku a US Visa does not clear him of any crime. He was issued a Visa because they found him eligible for that under whatever category he applied. The USA government are also never in a rush to arrest anybody unless they want/have to. I've lived here for 2 decades as well as work with/for them so I know. I'm not here to argue with you. All I'm simply saying is that if they want Atiku, they will inform him. It's easier to write Atiku, contact his lawyer, or contact Atiku than those Yahoo boys you mentioned. |

Stop lying, which includes your assertions that every president in america or the west have cleared slates BE TRUTHFUL...Speak based on the truth...it's soothing even trump and all past presidents have bigger issues to clear but that didn't disqualify them from being elected. Now if you are using that as a standard for atiku...he's passable at the very least, if not in colours |

princeonx:ok. You're simply one of those few who reason differently and sensibly and so, I'd go further in my explanations . I stand to be corrected pls. By the way, apologies for those typos. Was composed while in traffic. You've been able to clear the air a bit by saying, he was issued visa because he was found eligible under whatever category or means for which he applied. We live in a country where people are judged on the media ( social, print or electronic) and until there's a law promulgated to take care of such, our people would keep misbehaving . That said , I was attacked so much by a few simply because I didn't go deep in my first comment, thinking every contrbutor would simply understand my standpoint. Issuance of visa doesn't guarantee admissibility at the POE . Students and visitors have been sent back in the past while some were even arrested and put in a cold cell at the POE. That atiku was issued a visa was a sign he was found eligible and have also been cleared of the concerns the consular must have had by placing his application under 221g when he first applied ( meaning his application was undergoing administrative processing). I was following the case with keen interest in the national dailies . 221g isn't an issue and shouldn't be construed for a ceime as many myopic Nigerians viewed it. They, because of their preference for lying buhari said atiku is wanted in the usa for the crime he committed...which crime? America had said they've got no criminal case against atiku. I've fallen under the same 221g in the past after which my visa was approved. I schooled update new York and had lived there before too. Amazingly, a single line of explanation which could simply be understood by a white or a westerner would probably take a whole page to explain to my people . See the screenshot and probably look it up for the rest of the story . Cheers

jmaine: Yes they don't, they just accidentally tagged, labeled and flagged him as a PPE, an undesirable and unwanted crook in their country. I just wonder why the us Congress out of 200 countries on the surface of the earth picked our own Atiku to investigate and show the world as the face and poster boy for corruption. You should also explain to us why and how Siemens bribe money landed into Atiku bank account in the US according to the US Congress. Yes, they don't have any case against him, but he still can not enter the US while ordinary Nigerian can. If they really don't have anything against him, tell him to pack his load and enter the US. At your ile age, you are peddling rubbish and common diplomatic talk. Smart you really are not. |

Re: Atiku Returns To Nigeria, No Assurances Of Entering US Without Being Arrested by Nobody: 6:34pm On Dec 02, 2018 |
akilo1:he'd surely enter. Atiku isn't buhari who was placed on life ban due to his stance on jihad and boko haram, before he had the ban lifted by USA and UK when vying for presidency . Same with his wife Aisha who was an accomplice in a money laundering act with her cousin in USA. It took her almost forever to enter USA because she was wanted. The case was swept under the carpet by APC so Nigerians wouldn't know. She'd definitely be picked as soon as her hubby leaves 9dfice to stand trials in the usa |
