South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan has confirmed that the Confederation of African Football wants South Africa to step in as hosts of the Africa Cup of Nations 2019, at short notice, according to a report on South Africa’s Times Live.

CAF stripped Cameroon of the AFCON 2019 hosting rights at the weekend due to delays in preparing for the continental showpiece, and the continental football governing body is now seemingly now eyeing South Africa as a replacement. Jordaan told the SAFA AGM in Sandton on Sunday that the continental football governing body has asked South Africa to seriously consider taking over as AFCON 2019 hosts.

The SAFA president returned to South Africa on Sunday morning after attending Caf’s Extraordinary Executive Committee meeting in Accra‚ Ghana, where the decision to dump Cameroon was taken. The report also revealed that SAFA would meet the South African government first before making a decision on whether to accede to the request.

South Africa last staged the Cup of Nations in 2013 which was won by Nigeria. The 2019 event is scheduled for June 15 to July 13, a change from its traditional January-February slot and it will be the first to feature 24 teams — up from 16 at the 2017 edition in Gabon.

Good one.

It is always better to be prepared waiting for an opportunity than to grab an opportunity while not being prepared.

As soon as they stripped it off Cameroon, SA came to mind. They seem to be the only African country that could cope with the very short notice!

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo and son having a swell time together.
In a simple illustration, the boy asked his father why would he be supporting Atiku Abubakar of all candidates. And Obasanjo jokingly said “if Nigerians are wise, I wrote two books on Atiku and said several things about him, if my sudden change which is less than 6 months would overwrite my position of years then Nigerians are the problem of this nation, not politicians.”

The son couldn't withstand it, he had to hug his father for a brilliant analysis...!!!

What then happens to Cameron National team as they didn’t partake in the qualifying rounds being the host Nation.

It will be most unfair to disqualify them seeing how well prepared(sedorf and kliuvert as coaches) they were for this competition

WHY IS THE BUHARI ADMINISTRATION NOT SHOWING KEEN INTEREST TO HOST THE MUNDIAL.

It is only crude oil the Buhari administration is fighting tooth and nail to hijack from crude oil producing community.

SPORTS COMPETITION IS ONE OF THE GREATEST MONEY SPINNER APART FROM IMPROVING ON A COUNTRY 'S INTERNATIONAL IMAGE.

Small african countries like Kenya, Ethiopia, Somolia are dominating the long distance athletics with money entering their economy.

NORTHERN NIGERIA CAN MAKE HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY IF THEY CAN SET ASIDE THEIR VAST LAND FOR FORMULA 1 RACING SPORT.

BUHARI BRAIN NEED RESETTING! Dooh !
