dancewith: Oga, the US embassy does not deny someone a visa without stating the reason. On that blue paper, they usually state why an applicant is not qualified to travel to the US. They usually cite that they fear that the applicant does not have enough ties to bring them back to their home country, meaning that they are afraid they want to run away. Let's face it, more than 70% leaving Nigeria to the US on a tourist visa have no plans of coming back. Don't think these guys are dumb |

SoNature: It has been corroborated here several times that they deny without citing reasons. |

Those guys at the national assembly are selfish and jobless. Nigerians are denied US visa every day, how has Atiku's denial so special? Atiku is corrupt and has criminal financial records unlike some genuine Nigerians that had been denied by same US embassy in the past but no representation was made to the embassy by the national assembly. |

OyinO: If you don't have enough ties to Nigeria and yet you go to apply for visa, you deserve to be exploited. Blacks can't see pattern. With Trump being president, you should know not to waste your money going to US but because of low IQ, you keep doing the same thing while expecting different result. The US embassy can't close down because of students who want to run from Nigeria, they also can't chase you away when you're giving them frew money. They are there for people who want to go to America and still return. It would be better for them to summon Donald Trump and ask him to sign an executive order allowing Nigerians to enter U.S. freely, because the Ambo is jist following instructions. |

These people are making a mockery of themselves. The US ambassador is not answerable to the Nigerian government on how it chooses to conduct its internal affairs. Smh! Summon ko, Conjure ni. |

speedyconnect3: Believe me, those people are liars! Next time, tell them to scan and upload the paper they embassy issued to them in rejection They always say that they fear the applicant wants to run away from their country because they don't have strong ties that will bring them back home. The truth is most times getting a visa depends on LUCK That's why many people go praying and fasting for it |

Ekpekus: You missed the point... No one is saying they shouldn't do as they wish.. The point is... Denying people visa is now a chorus and alot of innocent Nigerians are on this table. Secondly if you deny people visa make a refund and stop syphoning. From my own experience... USA embassy doesn't even carry out invistigation on applicants... They just give you visa based on discretion I remember being denied many years ago, after passing my SAT and did better than 97% college board seniors.. my TOEFL was very good too. I went to the embassy as a real student very ambitious. The irony of the story is the guys that forged account statements are the ones who were giving visas. Another interviewer at window 6 was just giving out visas because it was her birthday. After many years I also forged and got the ViSA.. though I went and came back as planned So far US embassy has a flawed foreign policy. Compare to UK and Canada 1 Like |

Don't you have enough schools in Nigeria? What other school are you seeking abroad? |
Re: Visa Denial: National Assembly Summons US Ambassador by dancewith: 7:05am On Dec 04, 2018 |
SoNature: On the contrary, the paper you refer to is pre printed and is the same issued to all that are denied visa Do you call that a reason? I am aware it points to their immigration law that says the applicant failed to convince the visa officer that he or she has sufficient ties to their country to which they would return. But how does everyone get to be issued this same reason and you expect them to know the specific defect they need to correct in future applications The UK and Canada would point out the exact specific reasons for denying you visa such that you can work to overcome them in future applications I am not here to debate if Nigerians are running away en masse. I studied in Nigeria and abroad and I know several Nigerians that did so and are back here. The apocalyptic outcry that we are all running away isn't what I intend to debate here but if someone paid hard earned money for a visa, if he or she is deemed unqualified, for heaven's sake give them a clear enough reason why that is so 3 Likes |

Abati60:bunch of illiterates at the national assembly, like Dino Melaye like Adeleke. When has shouting and making thuggery aggressions on the floor of the senate turned to legislation? This their action will even destroy Atiku the more. Obasanjo needs to withdraw million copies of his book around the world that contained criminal records of atiku. |

Why must you go to the US when you're not wanted there? Pls, is it by force? The Nigerians aspiring to travel abroad esp to the US have no shame not even when you're being denied their Visa. |

SoNature: Common what are you saying... A consular told me .. "you are qualified for this visa.. but sorry I don't feel like giving you" What about that. I was 20 years old then o applying for student visa At the end still gave me that their scam preprinted papers You can't even protest... You can reapply as many times as you want . 1 Like |

kahal29: Nigeria is bad, Nigeria is this, Nigeria that. Is not by force for the United States to Grant Visas. But if Americans don't like us they should hate Nigerian money aslo. 75% of these fees should be refundable.. dinaing someone visa and not refunding the money is Fraud... This oyinbos perpaterate Fraud in directly but We're too blind to see... We hate ourselves more looking at what some people are commenting... |
Re: Visa Denial: National Assembly Summons US Ambassador by zoedew: 7:17am On Dec 04, 2018 |
They should rather focus on examining reasons why citizens are desperately seeking to leave the country. That should sober them up. But for God, they won’t debate that!! |
Re: Visa Denial: National Assembly Summons US Ambassador by dancewith: 7:17am On Dec 04, 2018 |
Reference: We keep stereotyping this. It simply isn't true. Do a research on how many Brits emigrate out of the UK annually. Do the same about how many Americans leave America to live in other countries You would find the numbers mind boggling Back to your claim. Yes Nigerians travel like other nationals. Some do not come back like other nationals. I do not have the stats but what I do know is that when you visit any major airports around the world , you would see a crowd of Nigerians at the departure lounge returning to Nigeria after a brief trip abroad We should stop this demonizing already. I strongly believe this is now a bandwagon |

Re: Visa Denial: National Assembly Summons US Ambassador by saajus: 7:27am On Dec 04, 2018 |
National Assembly is deluded. Nobody can summon another country for VISA denial. We can only retaliate by increasing Americans VISA denials if we have a ill feeling. Fix your country and be respected. Very soon, ECOWAS go comot Nigeria from the list and Ghana will be refusing Nigerians VISA. We've become burden to all African countries, Europe and America. |

That’s why I have confronted many preacher men in Nigeria to STOP promising Nigerians HELL when they die. NIGERIANS have had enough Hell. They can’t afford to be relegated to another one. |
