If you are following American politics you will know that legal fees can be questioned. I am referencing the Mike Cohen's (Mr fix it) President Trump Lawyer who is undergoing interrogation over series of accusation including amounts been paid to him for Legal works.

Na now u wan compare america and Nigeria abi

they should go and hold the Governor, EFCC has no good case against the NBA President, the question is, is he entitled to his professional fees or not.
Yes or no??
In my own opinion yes.
They should hold the Governor for misappropriation of public fund(s).

The law is that he who steals and he that benefits from the proceeds of the stolen item or money are all culpable in law.

Why or how is that the recipient's business? That issue should he raised with the governor/Akwa Ibom state government. As long as the lawyer can prove that the payment was for legitimate services rendered (which he had easily done), then he has zero culpability.

If you're a thief, and you use proceeds of theft to pay for goods and services, does that make the provider of those goods and services complicit in your alleged crime? Come on. That's a very very silly approach by the EFCC.

The EFCC is doing a ready disgraceful job, wasting public funds on very stupid cases that would be thrown out by the courts for lack of merit. It's a shame how incompetent this institution and others in Nigeria are.
The law is that the recipient of stolen goods, whether knowing or unknowingly is culpable. Ignorance is no excuse in law.

That is not the law my friend. Who is a "recipient" of stolen goods in the eyes of the law? I gave an example earlier. If you provide legitimate services, anyone can come and pay for your services. It's impracticable to start questioning every customer about their source of funds... If a thief comes to your shop to pay for your services using his stolen money, does that make you a "recipient" of stolen money? Think about that.

Like I said, this case is a useless case and the judge would strike it out with disgust. Watch and see if anything would come out of it.

law is not a way one thing it sure has its exceptions bro, EFCC will have to prove that the NBA President has knowledge that such funds were proceeds of crime.

IF you didnt work for UAC and you got 1.4 billion naira from UAC,what should you do as lawyer or a law abiding person.shouldnt u reply uac saying u didnt work for uac but did work for the md of uac in a personal capacity and therefore refund the money so same can be resent to the governor u worked for so the governor can remit same to u as fees for personal services rendered to him in his personal capacity.

this is what paul usoro fails to do,he received tax payers money without having done anything for the tax payers.

it is framed to be money laundering because it is being disguised as moneys paid out for services rendered to state govt when in fact usoro knew he didnt do election petition for the state govt/he received and retained money not due from him and because investigations must have shown the transfer was done in pursuant of a clandestine arangement betwee the Governor and the usoro, they are duly charged for conspiracy to steal public funds.

I believe he collected the amount for services rendered over a 9 year period, from 2009 till 2018 which seems fair.

He worked under Akapbio as well, he was actually inherited from Akpabio
