You need to understand that Katsina state borders Niger republic and border communities often vote in both elections

Dumb and lazy folks who can't do more research

Appealing to the Hausa at the border means lying he is pro Buhari, their son. That's why you hear people vote in the North from Niger republic. They speak Hausa and can slip in and out of our borders easily. Secondly, Nigeria is the most influential party for Niger republic more so more than France. But France assets itself with a deliberate post colonial policy or neocolonization. Nigeria has no such plans of domination towards it neighbours (which is bad really, at least assert influence).

Buhari was not born in Daura, katsina, he was born in a Nigerien Village not far from the Nigerian border. His father migrated to Nigeria simply because one of Buharis aunt was married out to a famiky member of the Daura emirate. Buharis father subsequently found his way into Daura Nigeria and was offered a job as Dogari (Palace guard). That was how Buhari became a citizen of Daura. Till this moment Buhari considers himself more of a Nigerien than a Nigerian, which is why he has diverted a railway line to his ancestorial village in Niger Republic and is building a refinery there too.
I weep for Nigeria, especially the Yoruba Muslems rooting for this man.

At least the OP and the Niger (Nigger in French I suppose) candidate are both using the real picture of former Buhari and not of the one today (Which is clearly a different man all together).
