Yes. It's a federation. But their oil money runs it. And they don't get anywhere near equal appointments. Solution is autonomy let everyone run his side with a very slim centre for mere coordination.

If he had appointed people from south East they will still say if he like handed over power to them they won't vote for Buhari. Nigeria second class citizens at it again.

If the president can do this at this time, when he is supposed to make the south east and south south happy in order to vote for him, what will happen when he wins and has nothing at stake? This man is a tribal bigot. Later, someone will say buhari loves Igbos, Igbos should vote for him in order to get presidency in 2023. This man hate Igbos and can never hand over to them. That's why Igbos hate him and can never vote for him.

I think elections just need to come and go. After this PMB must stop all this lenient approach encouraging so much dissent in the land. Everyone, to include a child born minutes ago, now question every action of PMB. Nigerians are difficult people and by being hands-off PMB has encouraged this situation where any and everybody now resist and insult him and his office. There must be respect for the office of the President because majority of Nigerians gave him the mandate to lead them. This is PMB's fault. Had Saraki never become Senate president, because of Buhari's hand-off approach, we would not be dealing with a frustrating upper legislative house today.

Had Gbajabiamila become Speaker house of Rep instead of Dogara would PMB not be getting a lot more support from the lower legislative house today? I hope PMB has learnt his lesson. Tinubu warned him of the need to play politics right and deal with Vipers to be able to deliver for the people. Buhari naively rejected that advise because he did not want international condemnation for being dictatorial. Yet what has PMB gained today?

His soft approach signals to troublemakers and attention-seekers the image of a docile leader everyone can disrespect and fight pettily from Kanu, Fayose, FFK to Adeyanju and the legislative arm. Imaging telling the democratically elected leader of the biggest black nation on earth to take off his hat and speak the Fulani language? I am pissed with Mr.President for this as he let this get out of hand. Buhari must change tact after he wins in February as this is getting ridiculous and not good for Nigeria.

Nothing positive will be achieved if everyone is now primed to challenge, insult and impede the Presidency. These lot dare try this with OBJ who was removing Governors and Senate Presidents like he was changing agbada? On this thread we don't see names of appointees yet many rush in to condemn and pour vitriol on PMB. Mr.President , if he does not get tough, risk being unable to deliver for Nigeria because of disrespect for his office that makes every Tom, Dick and Harry feel they can fight and defy him without consequences. We will have thousands of Kanus, Adeyanjus, FFks, Fayoses et al everywhere if PMB continues like this!!!!!!

Why not do some investigative work and bring names of nominees here before judging PMB as guilty? Do you sound a fair and objective person even to yourself by condemning a man's character over a report that is scanty, lacking in details and not verified? The upper and lower legislative houses are controlled by a Senate President and Speaker who will attack Buhari for even breathing. Anyway I blame Buhari and his naive politicking for this mess. Hopefully he will listen to Tinubu in future and not squander a 2-0 lead to end up losing 2-3 because of terrible defending.

This why the SE and SS (better south) will keep hating dullard and his APC. He will get less than 2% votes from the SESS region in 2019, while Atiku clears the NC, NE and hits him badly in the NW.

The dullard is not coming back in 2019. If he rigs his way in to force himself on nigerians. His safety and that of his family cannot be guaranteed by nigerians.

I endorse this message.

Very direct and matter-of-fact input. If anyone in here has access to Presidency please share with them and let them know.

Here in Nairaland we will defend him passionately if he decides to start making example out of some big fish who think they are untouchable.

I don't know how old you are. But from your comment, you represent the age of bad politics of nepotism, favoritism, dictatorship and tyranny. Little wonder you support Tinubu's advice to Buhari to play politics with the National Assembly in a democratic state. Old men like you need to leave politics for this country to advance. People like you polute the polity with your dictatorial tendencies. Old men like you don't like taking advice from young people so am giving you this as a suggestion. For the sake of prosterity, for the sake of the future of this country, do the right thing even when it might not favour you. Remember, prosperity has a way of rewarding our actions.

What a load of bollocks. Who is talking about dictatorial and tyrannical behaviour? The point is Buhari should learn to play the game of politics as an effective all-rounder like Tinubu because this is critical to success and delivering for the people in a country full of many legislators happy to kill and frustrate anything that promotes the interest of the common Nigerian.

APC won a hard fought victory in 2015. Buhari, if he wants to deliver for Nigeria, should be aware he must get a reform-minded legislature able tp help him break down the PDP elitist and conservative legislative brinksmanship, typified by 'gatekeepers' like David Mark , that has held Nigeria back since 1999.

He should have played the game, because his Party had the majority, that would allow supportive leaders emerge as head of our upper and lower house. Simple politicking and nothing to do with dictatorship. It is how life is everywhere. It is the reason a boxing champion tells a contender where a fight must be held. The champion has earned the right to dictate such and Buhari spurned that advantage to the detriment of his Party and Presidency.
