Party Chairmen Protest During Signing Of Peace Accord, Allege Deceit by 5Ebiscoo: 6:50am On Dec 12, 2018
Former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of Social Democratic Party, SDP, Mr. Donald Duke and that of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, ACPN, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili on Tuesday boycotted the signing of peace accord by Presidential candidate’s and their political parties in Abuja.

The ceremony attended by members of the diplomatic corps, international community, religious and traditional rulers, was organised by National Peace Committee for the 91 Chairmen of the registered political parties and the 73 Presidential candidates participating in the next year’s election.

However, there was a protest by some political parties’ Chairmen, who claimed that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was given undue advantage at the ceremony. The aggrieved party Chairmen wondered why President Muhammadu Buhari who is the APC candidate in the 2019 election should be given preferential treatment and also why the APC Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was allowed to have a group photograph with the committee members excluding other Chairmen.

The protest drew the attention of the Chairman of the National Peace Committee and former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, retd, who apologized to the aggrieved Chairmen and their Presidential candidates for any lapses recorded.

Earlier in his remarks, General Abubakar, underscored the essence of peace towards ensuring credible polls. He thanked President Buhari for his commitment to ensuring peace and credible election as well as being present to sign the peace agreement and advised him to lead by example. He however, noted that currently, security should be a source of worry to everyone, especially the leaders, and cautions that their acts of commission or omission could make matters worse. He urged them to temper their utterances and action with responsibility and patriotism.

Patriotic men of integrity are lacking in this nation. Why give preferential treatment to the incumbent president in this kind of accord? This is just exercise in futility.

It was all a charade.. Atiku and Saraki saw through it.

The peace accord was conducted just like the Osun rerun.

Spits.

It was an APC peace accord with Oshiomhole as the factional chairman cheesy

Other parties protested and washed off their hands from the scam.

I know Oby Ezekwesili will never be part of it.

Abdulsalami, your hard earned reputation will soon be soiled by the same people that wanted Bishop Kukkah out of the peace accord committee cool

Well, what kind of preferential treatment was given to the APC candidate? For God's sake, PMB is still the president of this country! Or the aspirants want to leverage on their ambitions to act President too? They are only aspirants for now. If Adams Oshiomhole was allowed to have group photograph in exclusion of that chairmen that one is proven discrimination. Ought to be addressed but not be a clog in the peace issue. If simple things like Peace Accord can get complex like this, then we are not yet ready for 2019 elections. I see grave danger ahead. We need to give democracy a chance, both the Ruling party and the Opposition.

Lol!

Anything Muhammadu touches automatically becomes dysfunctional. He was only there because the 'decision makers' have ensured it will be advantageous to them.

I guess Atiku knew whatsup reason why he boycotted the fake thing..Oby Ezekwesili also boycotted the APC fraudulent 'peace accord' orchestrated by the clowns in APC

You have a history of dis-obeying court orders, you refused to sign the electoral amendment bill, you have a nasty history of claiming you were cheated when you lose elections..causing chaos, anarchy and blood-shed in the process.

..Now after rigging yourself in 2015 and perfecting numerous clandestine ways to rig yourself back in 2019,you came up with a silly 'peace sign' for mumus to applaud.

You can only fool your zombie supporters who cant think for themselves, half of whom are hoping their 'brother' will take over in 2023 (delusional much)and perhaps enrich them in their dreams so that they will cease drinking Ijebu-garri as their staple food morning, afternoon and night due to generational poverty.

Sign electoral act, you refused. Now you want people to sign peace accord with you. No way!
First sign the electoral act.

The refusal of the president to sign the Electoral Act is to pave the way for the writing of FAKE results using incident forms especially in the North West and North East in particular.

in this case buhari is just an aspirant also as the peace accord is meant to be signed by presidential aspirant. all aspirant in attendance should be treated equally. their position or social standing should not come into play here
