PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari, Wednesday, described former President Olusegun Obasanjo as an unstable character who blows hot and cold at different times. Buhari and Obasanjo heads on President Buhari has also told the former President that his support for any candidate in the 2019 Presidential elections would amount to nothing, even as he dismissed Dr. Obasanjo’s recent remarks that need not to be taken seriously. Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, said former president Obasanjo’s utterances were a sign of confusion not worthy of attention. According to him, “whoever Obasanjo chooses to support at the 2019 elections is irrelevant, as the former president had publicly changed his mind on the matter so many times over the past few months alone “Former president Obasanjo denounces one person today and supports that same person the next day. “When it pleases him, he brings God into the matter and uses that as his excuse for whatever position he has chosen,” he said. Shehu added that he was not surprised that newspapers reported Obasanjo expressing neutrality at a weekend forum, only for the former president to express a completely different stance after a day or two. He said, “We have learnt not to take his utterances seriously anymore. “We know that the slightest wind can make him change his mind again. One thing that makes a man great is his ability to own up when he has mad mistake. OBASANJO made a mistake by supporting buhari in 2015. Now he has realised his mistake and Buhari(Jubril) is insulting him. |
