On the 17th of December 2018 twitter user @MoyinAdesipe tweeted that some members of her family had been kidnapped along Akoko road and were asking for 40 million naira. Less than a day later the governor of the state Arakurin Akeredolu SAN replied to her cry for help and assured her that security personnel had been put on the case and that they were doing all they could to rescue them.
