NLC Declares Nationwide Protest On January 8th 2019 by Nobody: 11:26pm On Dec 22, 2018
The NLC who declared that January 8th protest would be to express anger and dissatisfaction, had demanded that the wages of workers in the country be increased to N30, 000 but the state government insisted they can only afford N22,500.

President of Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) , Ayuba Wabba who spoke to newsmen yesterday said;

“The protest is to express anger and total dissatisfaction over the delay by the federal government in transmitting, enacting and implementing the new national minimum wage of N30,000. The NEC-in-Session approved that the protests should hold in all state capitals and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja on January 8, 2019. The NEC mandates all industrial unions and state councils to fully mobilise workers and coordinate with other labour unions for this mother-of-all protest.”

Protest? Only to cancel one minute to the activity.

Doubt if people take the NLC serious again.

Who takes these clowns seriously anymore?

They had the opportunity to advance their cause with the last strike. Nigerians gave them their full support. Government would have eventually succumbed to their demands.

Only for them to call it off before the strike even started.

NLC please protest on your own. You guys arent serious at all.

As for me, I'm not starting my new year with any protest.

Well, the truth is, government better pay up, BUT, taking into account oil money is not too much, paying minimum wage means taking another big loan down the line.

Another reason to diversify our economy.

Paying politicians millions of naira for doing nothing is easy. Even with the billions looted. But paying mere #30,000 to workers is like heaven wants to fall. Even majority of the civil servants are products of the politicians slots. What a country!

Good.

If SouthAfrican can afford to pay N126, 000 minimum wage, why can't Nigeria pay at least N100, 000?

They can't pay 30k at people like SENATOR YAYI, DINO ETC can be cashing out around 14 million naira with salary of N750k every month.

Woe betide all these rogue politicians.

I swear most Nigerians need brain reset if they re-elect this people.
The only time senator YAYI and 90% of our legislators is ever active is during election campaign. After his wins, he goes back to hibernation and the bribery and looting continues.

NLC is not serious, why protest, why not embark on indefinite strike.

Protest that can lead to police or soldiers gunning people that hold no arms. shocked

The labor leaders have been bribed thus making them to chase shadow.

Only a fool will join this toothless NLC in this jamboree. The NLC under its present leadership is the worst. They plan a protest today, they shelve it the next minute.
