The lawmaker representing Ahoada East Constituency one in the Rivers state House of Assembly, Martins Mannah has described the 2019 budget of the State as a scam.

Mannah, who addressed newsmen after the budget presentation, said little or nothing was achieved with the 2018 budget.

He further said the newly presented budget may face the challenge of implementation, adding that there is a misplaced priority in the budget because security is expected to lead.

“The 2019 budget of the Wike Government is another scam. N480bn?

“The Governor is presenting N480billion when the 2018 budget has achieved nothing. All we have been seeing are patching of roads. No major project anywhere in the state.

“A state that claims to be generating employment is giving only 4billion naira to Agriculture.

“Let me tell you, during the budget 2018 defence here, one on the Ministries got 6billion naira in 2017 and we asked them what they did with their allocation, the Commissioner of that Ministry said they did not receive one naira from the Rivers state government. So, this 2019 will be the same.”

Governor Nyesom Wike on Monday presented the 2019 Appropriation Bill of N480.42 billion to the State House of Assembly for consideration.

Wike might not be perfect, but when it comes to road construction ii give it to him.

I'm not disputing the fact that part of Rivers state iis dirty. I know for sure no government has done enough for ahoada west, especially mbiama, JK et al.

But for oyigbo, the government wwhen they came into power wanted to build the federal road. But certain group of APC members sued the government that it was not in its jurisdiction to build the road, it raised a lot of dusts until iit was finally abandoned. Since then the federal govt has not felt any need to make effort on that road because riversis PDP.

For mbiaba, there had been efforts to move the market but it was greeted with protest and opposition. Bear in mind this is Reason Onya's stronghold.

Everywhere is Market in Rivers State, so unplanned, Market that are owned by private individuals like the one at Choba junction causing traffic and heaps of refuse.

There was a time WIKE convinced private firms to contribute towards repairing a road hoping the state govt will put up counter part funding, note these private firms on their own would have repaired those roads but what happened next is that as usual so much collected and little spent.

Note than NPA saw should the charade and refused to be part of it ~ people will later say NPA is APC and all that.
