IMO, a song with an impressive message does not tally with a raunchy video . . . I can't imagine all the flesh 'n' stuff in Nas' "One Mic" . . .

3ex is an impressive message in its own right, it's a part of contemporary society and it's a big part of everything else, so it's only normal that it be portrayed in music videos.

I agree sex is a message . . . fact is everything is a message . . . even if all I do is sneeze and cough on a track, it can connote all sorts of messages - I have a cold . . . or I'm just an i.mbecile . . .

For want of a better word to qualify "message", I had to use "impressive" . . . it all depends on what appeals to us . . . most times, I love stuff with heavy lyrical content . . . this comes mostly from the griots of Rap Music . . . and most times, these folks just spit pure unadulterated and deep ish . . . devoid of unnecessary display of flesh . . . and I'm cool with that . . . 

But on the flip side, I like to see 'em raw stuff at times . . . ain't we all human??

There's a reason why on every survey on what most affects young people sex and not sneezing is in the top three.

Music is an expression of society, sex probably comes only next to religion and money in the contemporary Nigerian society and much higher in young people.
Society places much emphasis on sex, it will be criminal if music does not portray it.

Sex is everywhere around us . . . you don't need to switch on your TV set or read Playboy to see it . . . . . . we're constantly inundated by it every day and everywhere - the classrooms, the markets, at work, even in church . . . it's all in our faces, so what's the essence of selling it to me?? And hell no, even if you must sell it, not through music.

Funny thing is I might like a song that's got great delivery but's deficient on the lyrical side of things . . . but if the vid's all about raunchiness, believe me I'm out . . .

Ask yourself A-40, what's the essence of watching a raunchy music vid when you could watch p[/i]or[i]n??  Better still, go get some . . .
