Why Is My Baby Not Taking breast milk regularly after bein cured of hepatitis B? by Chiamaka79: 8:52pm On Dec 29, 2018
Nursing mothers in d house. My baby doesn't take breast milk often. What could be responsible? I was treated for a viral liver disease(chronic hepatitis B) and another virus again during pregnancy and I was cured of both, can the drugs I was on during pregnancy cause the breast milk not to taste nice for the baby? Or could it be because I contacted the 2 viruses a long time ago and it stayed for long in my system before I got cured?
I need to know pls?

Well I just googled and guess what?

Oh! It showed me some information like google always does. Not every thing in your life must be told on nairaland.

"Some babies become fussy or refuse feeds in the days leading up to or during their mother's menstrual period or when she is ovulating. This is because hormonal changes can affect breastmilk. A mother's supply may drop slightly or the taste of her milk might change (saltier)"

And what you should do?

Encourage your milk to flow by putting warm flannels over your breasts before a feed. A drop of breastmilk on the end of your nipple may tempt your baby to feed. Expressing some milk before starting a feed may help your baby to keep up with the flow, if you have a lot of milk.

Thank you.

Tell your husband to keep off. The baby is obviously a jealous one.

In this case I suggest you don't even give the baby breast milk having gone through such treatment.
I have an experience about your challenge , having gone through the treatments the doctor stated it that the baby will only take artificial milk.
He is two year now healthy without breath milk.
So in your case it will be safer for the baby not to take breast milk.
