Hi y'all

The filling of form stuff seems to be working and so far nobody has complained, so for active  posters/readers that are interested in the reunion, please fill the form and look for a way to pay ur cash before the "grin" day or better still get in touch with Tampico so she could further guide you on how to go about your payment & also get your receipt. (since its refundable) thats for guys that think it would not hold.

@LC
Honey, you've maintained a rather golden silence on this issue, please let all see your opinion on this. (So that T canbe comfortable)  wink kiss

My vote goes out to Ofunneka. She has been very impressive all through her stay in the house.

Go girl!!!

Ofunneka is the winner of Big Brother Africa 2.
Re: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by spora(m): 9:35am On Nov 09, 2007
I was reading through the BB website this morning and there is this OP with the question "On what basis will you vote for your winner?". The Poll Result is:

Their strategy               70%
Your sympathy               5%
Your patriotism             15%
Eeni meeni mieni mo 10%

However, this is a clear departure from one get to read on the same website from the users' comments. My conclusion, therefore, is that if the result will be based on this OP, there is no doubt that the master (or is it mistress?) strategists in the house is homegirl and therefore the dough is hers.

My dear, is no longer news that somethin like dat does happen at BB Africa II.
Read this from www.bbafrica2.wordpress/2007/11/03/the-sexy-that-was-fingergate-scandal-laid-to-rest/
Shortly thereafter, the four housemates - including Maureen Namatovu of Uganda, who was evicted the day after the incident - are seen collapsing on the floor on top of each other, laughing uproariously. Bezuidenhout then simulated sex standing behind Durao, but both are fully clothed.

He referred to his penis as “a weapon from Tanzania” and posed like a soldier shooting a machine-gun. “Tell them how nice Zanzibar is,” he said to Durao.

“I’m going to bump you all before you leave this house,” he added.

Bezuidenhout, who is newly married, then scooped up Durao, with whom he had already had consensual sex in the house, and carried her to the bedroom, suggesting he would like to have sex with her again. She said “no” and then passed out.

A few minutes later, after Molokwu had arrived in the bedroom and vomited repeatedly, Bezuidenhout lay between the two women under the sheet. Durao was also under the sheet, apparently asleep. Molokwu grabbed Bezuidenhout’s face, trying to kiss him, but he refused.

He then turned his back on her playfully, and she grabbed his crotch and rubbed herself against his body. This activity went on for several minutes.

Bezuidenhout laughed and giggled throughout the encounter with Molokwu, which was cut short when paramedics arrived in the bedroom. They removed Durao for medical attention, and Bezuidenhout was escorted out.
“There are strict guidelines for the producers on the breaking of any house rules,” explained Fischer when asked whether M-Net would have intervened had Bezuidenhout indeed been sexually assaulting any of the women. “Even if nothing raunchy is going on, there is quite a fine line defining at which point we would intervene.”

Go through that sis!

If BB truly believed that nothing untoward happened on Saturday then why were the HM offered to see a psychiatrist? The HM only apologized for over indulgence and nothing more. Since when does someone need to see a psychiatrist after excessive drinking.

BB is rated 16NL and in their statement they mention this and that parental control can and should be used. What transpired on Saturday Afternoon was most definitely not 16NL but rather 18SNL and one can almost add violence to that depending on your viewpoint. The producers could see what was happening however they continued to show the live footage. This is an indication that they were more interested in their ratings and gaining further viewers as well as votes in the final weeks of the show. The producers only chose to remove the cameras from the bedroom and focus on an empty garden once all events had transpired and the paramedics were brought in.

Richard has full recollection of what happened on Saturday because on Tuesday he threatened to finger Tatiana and Ofunneka during an argument. Someone would not make a statement like this out of the blue in an argument without making reference to a previous event.

More proof that Richard remembers is that he has full recollection of events as they transpired before and shortly after the event. He even recalls the paramedics entering the room and asking the one paramedic to kiss him on the cheek. Richard was also drunk as he also passed out in the diary room however due to the fact that he does remember in detail what transpired one has to conclude that he was in control of his actions.

If Ofunneka does remember what happened, then she is not bringing it out in the open yet. One must remember that they are isolated in the house and have no idea what the viewers see or think. It would be a big risk at this late stage of the game, and in the final race to win $100 000, to say anything as this could jeopardise her chances of winning especially knowing that Richard has survived so many evictions. This would also destroy Tatiana with whom she is friends. Bringing it out in the open would be going against both Richard and Tatiana.

The question now has to be asked that if she does indeed remember does that make her consenting. The answer is simple. Would she have done or allowed this selfish act to be done had she not been intoxicated especially with Tatiana lying on the bed next to Richard and herself. NO. Therefore she was not consenting.

Alcohol is sometimes used as an excuse for unacceptable behavior. When a man sexually assaults an acquaintance, he is seen as less responsible for his actions if he was drunk. Our societal double standard, however, results in the woman being seen as “to blame” for the assault if she was intoxicated. In addition, victims who were drinking when they were sexually assaulted tend to have more feelings of self-blame. It is important to remember that no one deserves to be sexually assaulted. Choosing to drink alcohol should not be equated with choosing to be sexually assaulted.

According to law, a person who is unconscious (passed out), or incapacitated, whether from alcohol, drugs, or illness, cannot give consent to sex. Therefore, if sexual contact occurs, it is sexual assault. When there is any uncertainty about your partner’s ability to give consent, it is wise to wait for another time. To engage in sexual activity with someone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs simply is against the law.

Debbie Harrison, director of KZN R ape Crisis, was aghast when she heard of the programme’s content. She is quoted as saying “If Bezuidenhout penetrated Malokwu with his fingers, as is alleged, then according to the new clauses contained in the Criminal Law Amendment Bill, it is an act of r ape, rather than sexual assault. The Bill says that if the woman is unable to consent to a sexual act, it constitutes ra pe”

Good morning all. Hope you all slept well. The Christmas season is bringing its own challenges in the way of work as every client and their dog seem to want to run a christmas goodwill campaign. Where is that work-free job we talked about?

@Spice Girl
Wow! A kindred spirit. Hope you'll be at the reunion. Would love to meet someone who shares my pain. grin

@Candies
Watch the Uncut show tonight for confirmation. Because as Richiana were getting into high gear with their moves, the cameras suddenly cut to homegirl in the bathroom. This gives me the impression that they are saving that footage for the Uncut Show tonight. But i wouldn't be surprised if they did.

@Chukz4real
Dude!!! You're preaching to the choir here. We've analysed and re-analysed the events of 'Fingergate' on this thread and we've reached the same conclusions as your contribution. But we did it like ten pages back. Right now we're concentrating on voting Homegirl. Enough already. We have at least two lawyers in the house here and we've looked at the legal arguments of both sides ad infinitum. We don't also want to be reminded of the sordid event ad nauseum

@Ndi
Sweetheart, I've filled the form and sent it to Tampico. How's work treating you? Hope not too badly? kiss

@Tampico
Baff'day girl, wassap? Hope you've gotten my form. Great work you're doing on the reunion. Do keep us posted.

BBA II: The Review (1) (Hope I will not make some enemies)

Excerpt of Maureen interview with BB:

BB: Welcome back, how has it been?
Maureen: ******There were people who said they wouldn't accept certain Housemates in the country. Like Bertha and Lerato.

BB: You drove here today with Lerato and Max. How was that?
Maureen: It was uncomfortable. I mean I greeted them and they didn't say anything back. In the car, they were playing music about being untouchable. I'm not going to stoop to any level. In fact, I'll be getting a taxi back today.

BB: So things haven't changed then?
Maureen: No, but I don't have an agenda. I just don't want to be pushed. I mean, we're not in the House anymore.

BB: That's great. Who do you think will win?
Maureen: I don't actually know,  it's very close between Richard and Ofunneka.

Imagine!

There is no doubt that BBA2 has been a complete failure. The show has been the subject of much criticism and controversy. Here is a progamme that "permits"  smoking, alcoholism, excessive drunkenness, nudity, sexual assault, tribalism/racism, inappropriate relationship, "mafiarism" et al.

There is a school of thought with an opinion that most of the items in the house are not "African" and therefore it is not really "Big Brother Africa", but essentially just a Big Brother-style show with African contestants. I think I support this to some extent. Reality Show my foot!, what do you want to gain by showing hms in the bath. Most of these things are unAfricans and we should speak out.

If I may score BBA2, I will not hesitate to say it has achieved the exact opposite of its objective. I think Africans are more divided than ever, if we have to judge from the comments on the net. You read of Ghanians rooting for Ofunne eviction just for no reason. You read about their comments that Nigerians are indirectly buying over Ghana with the rate Nigerian are migrating to Ghana and buying into her economy. Did you remember Kwaku's comment when he was evicted and Ofunne was shown nominating him?. He said "West Africa!". There is more to that simple but sadonic assertion than meet the eye. Kwaku today is praying for Tatiana as the winner.

And nobody should tell me this is just the youth saying rubbish as we sould remember that the youth is the future of a nation. Just as some people can not differentiate between a KOK in a make-belief scenario and a KOK in real life, I doubt if this episode will not create a great enmity amongst Africans.

In as much as I will want this programme to continue, I think there is a need to ammend some of its rules. If there should be any reality show, it show be that that rewards excellence, that reward performance, IQ, integrity, decency, Africanism,  et al as we saw with GUS. That is reality show, meeen!

Why should you say hms should nominate somebody to be evicted?. Why can't they carry out a task, whether mental or pysical and evict from the performance as it is done in selecting HOH?. Why should all the Untouchables go like that. I mean the rules and regualtion have denied us a lot of things.

Did I hear somebody say I am overstressing the issue. I pray so. I just pray so!

Now the big question is this : Is there any need for BBA3? My simple answer is yes, but the rules must be ammended to make it a real BBA that unites Africa.

Or what do you see to this?

BBA Grand Finale: Will Ofunneka Carry The Day?
http://www.thenewsng.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=3740

After 98 days of intense maneuvering and backbiting among housemates, the curtain finally falls this weekend on the M-Net Big Brother 2 Television Reality show. Without a doubt, the big question on the lips of every BBA fan in the continent is, who among the trio of Nigeria’s Ofunneka, Angola’s Tatiana and Tanzania’s Richard, will clinch the coveted $100,000 or N12.6 million on offer this Sunday?

Head to head the pendulum appears to be swinging in favour of Ofunneka Molokwu, the 28-year old University of Ibadan trained Chemist, whom viewers across Africa have come to perceive as the most mature housemate in BBA2.

For so long Ofunneka’s homeliness and impeccable kitchen manners have earned her huge fan base and applause from continental viewers of the show known for the ‘bare it all attitude’ of some female housemates.

“Ofunneka deserves the money. Richard and Tatiana have nothing to lose, they have already
achieved their mission by being together,” wrote a viewer from Namibia.

Bright as Ofunneka’s chances may appear, she must contend with the serious threat posed by the Richiana couple who between them parade an equally intimidating fan base. Richard, who has the record of surviving four eviction nominations in the past, stands out as the biggest threat to Ofunneka’s quest to clinch the $100,000 prize money.

“The fact that Richard has survived eviction four times shows that he has a very huge fan base. In fact, he is the only housemate among the finalists that has really gone out to test his popularity,’’ intoned Alex, a viewer in South Africa.

However, Richard’s relationship with Tatiana, which undoubtedly is his biggest selling point, appears to be his biggest albatross in his quest to clinch the coveted pie. While there is little doubt that the couple together command the largest fan base, the fact remains that voters can only vote for one housemate at a time. Thus the Richiana fans must decide who between the duo they have to vote for.

Observers reckon that Ofunneka would automatically benefit from the split in alliance among voters. “Richard and Tatiana will split their votes while Ofunneka’s support base remains intact. You know voters are not allowed to vote for couples because everybody is in the competition as an individual,’’ argued Aderemi, a BBA fan.

If that line of thought is sustained across the continent, then it would take a ‘voting tsunami’ to prevent Ofunneka from dancing to the bank with her new found millions come 7 p.m. on Sunday, 11 November.
Re: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by Spicegirl1(f): 7:54pm On Nov 09, 2007
@Spora

I kind of understand your views. I do have mixed feelings abt the show too.  On one hand, it beams the light on the complexities of human nature-- we cringe when one hm backstabs a close friend and many have been disgusted at Richard's adultery. But you know what, most people wouldn't do better in the same circumstances! I'm not condoning adultery, but i understand Richard's frailty in this circumstance.

BBA is also a great medium to emphasize the continent's problems of poverty, AIDS, wait a minute, AIDS? Hmmm. Me thinks that BBA endorses the very type of behaviour that promotes the spread of HIV. Can you imagine how many teenagers and young adults out there who actually think Richard's violation of Ofunneka actually makes him look cool? It's sad indeed!
I agree with you that BB's reported broadcast of the sordid matter is nothing short of a blatant promotion of pornography.

The tasks were cool though. I would like to see a show with more positive entertainment in the next edition of BBA.

Lerato and Max's attitude to Maureen is soooo immature! Not a surprise though. Shame on them!!!

@Tampico
I'm having problems accessing the form. What if you just posted the details and i send the info to your e-mail?

Good night y'all.
Re: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by ireke(m): 10:10pm On Nov 09, 2007
I am not condoning adultery on/off international TV, but my problem with Richard is not his adultery but the fact that he does not show any respect for the 2 women in his life (ricky and tatiana),  Of course, this disrespect was extended to Ofunneka. Unfortunately, this is the only reason why so many people are giving him thumbs up. We will be surprised to know that his supporters are not all juveniles as we think. We will likely see some (physically) matured adults among them.

Buying flowers or roses by the dozen, or ordering assorted chocolates in container loads is not synonymous with respect for the woman in your life. A man should treat and regard his partner spouse first as a human being, then as a woman. He should show respect for his woman's dignity. Richard lacked all of these. Please do not say he is being childish.

I do not care who wins BBA2 but I sincerely hope that those rooting for Richard to win will know enough to see him as an entertainer and not a role model.

On a second thought, I hope he does not win. Of course, I do not wish tatiana will win too. OK, let me confess, I want Ofunneka to win. I did not fast like some people but I sincerely wish she would win.
