HOW THE COUNTRY CAN PAY MINIMUM WAGE COMFORTABLY..........

1. Abolish SECURITY VOTE in NIGERIA. Nigeria will pay N45,000 minimum wage comfortably.

2. a) Abolish CONSTITUENCY PROJECT FUNDS
b) Reduce number of ADVISERS to SENATE PRES(2), HOUSE SPEAKER(2), GOVs(4), PRESIDENT(5), VP(2)
c) Reduce current ALL Political Office Holders PAY CHEQUES by 51.5%, without exception
d) Do away with special remuneration to POLITICAL ADVISERS & PUBLIC SERVANTS e.g; Purchase of Private Vehicles, Houses, granting Govt paid Vacations, paying for 1st & Business Class Transportations, etc, etc...
e) Abolish payment of OVERSEAS MEDICAL BILLS for Political Office Holders.
f) Eliminate PRIVATE PRACTICE in public workforce
g) Eliminate participation of Public Workforce in Partisan Politics.
h) Institute EMPLOYMENT BY MERIT, and eliminate UNDEREMPLOYMENT.
i) Review and eliminate allocation of Govt paid POLITICAL AIDES & SUPPORT STAFF to Political Office Holders.

With (1) + (2) Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N65,000 comfortably

3. Move Nigeria MORE to Private Sector Driven Economy
a) Privatise ALL of Federal Govt PARASTATALS & reduce Federal Direct Funded AGENCIES to 68% of the present.
b) Privatise ALL of STATE Govt PARASTATALS & reduce State Direct Funded AGENCIES to 19% of the present.
c) Reduce current DIRECT LABOUR JOB participation by 49%
d) Encourage more Working Hours until Nigeria economic stabilizes
e) Discourage UNIONISM in Public Workforce

With (1) + (2) + (3), Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N101,500 comfortably.

4) Institute DEATH PENALTY to proven THEFT OF PUBLIC FUNDS no matter how little, and LIFE Jail Sentences for COLLABORATORS.

With (1) + (2) + (3) & (4), Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N203,500 comfortably.

By extension that's what Buhari means. That those earning above #30K should not expect to have their salary raised. That is an implied slash of salary.

Vote out Buhari and APC. They are evil

Is the word review the same as slashing? Journalism plays ping-pong with half literates though. The new minimum wage takes care of those earning below minimum wage only and now there is a committee set up to also review the salaries of those earning above minimum wage ie.the defferencials, how much will be added step by step.that's how I understand it,those who understand English better should tell me otherwise

Wait a sec, who are the handlers of this fool?

Does this clown understand that minimum wage is a wage curve that entails that NO employee of the government has to earn below?

How did this country get saddled with this miseducated filth?

I ask again, who are the handlers of this fool?
Some of you guys will just start calling someone uneducated when you have not done much to justify your education. Some civil servants earn more than their counterparts in other parastatals and the disparity is much. A staff of efcc on level 9 for instance may earn much more than a teacher on level 12.

Please, what exactly do you not understand about the write up?

There are some workers like in NNPC, Local Content, CBN, et al who are currently earning above 30,000 minimum wage structure even when current minimum wage is 18,000 while others earn below it. This is injustice if you ask me.

So what he is saying is that, he will engage these categories of workers to see how he can collectively review it a little downwards before the new wage would be effected. At the end of the day when the new wage is effected, the difference with their old wage would not much thereby freeing more funds needed for sustainable funding and payments.

Look, the current government approved minimum wage line is 18,000. Any government MDA having a "minimum wage" above 30,000 as you claim is unauthorized and independent of government directive. It is illegal already. There is no need for entreaty.

Also, don't confuse minimum wage with allowances peculiar to a particular job e.g hazard allowance etc

A good attempt, but lacks FINANCIAL depth.

Give us the estimates of how much to be saved fr0m each items you have listed and for how many work force numbers, would say a minimum wage of N45,000,apply?

Also,I totally disagree with item 3!

Privatise ALL parastatals?

What NIGERIA needs is as follows, though not limited to the below:

1. Increase minimum wage to like N50k.
2. Keep the wages of those from say level 8 and above constant.
3. Reduce staff strength by about 30-40%. Unless we kid ourselves most of those who work in government are very unproductive. The savings can be used to fund minimum wage increase.
4. Deregulate petrol prices.
5. Deregulate electricity prices
6. Privatize or concession airports, railways, sea ports and key inter state expressways like Lagos- Ibadan, Sagamu - Benin, Abuja - Kaduna, Port Harcourt- Enugu.
7. Privatize refineries.
8. Sell abandoned FG properties in Lagos and other cities - Federal secretariat Ikoyi, Defence House Marina, Maman Kontagora House Marina etc
9. Let Federal universities set their fees as is commensurate to their cost. Brilliant students unable to pay should be given loans which they pay back when they start to earn income. This can be tracked with BVN, NIN. Too many people who shouldn't be in university are there.
10. Massive training of teachers nationwide to improve quality of primary and secondary university.
11. Compulsory, qualitative primary and secondary education for all children. While primary will be free, secondary will be compulsory but not free.
12. Reduce useless and unproductive federal agencies. Nigeria has agencies that add no value. All they do is pay salaries and maintain DG's, but contribute little to the country. If Channels TV, AIT etc are surviving by themselves, why do we need NTA to be funded by FG. Think how many people we are paying salaries to under NTA. if NTA cannot support itself, then it should be scrapped. Ditto FRCN

You cannot just say "there is no need for entreaty", You think it is easy to just slash people's salaries in Nigeria without general outcry?

The opposition would just seize the opportunity to criticize in a bid to score political point against the sitting government.

We are in the election period, these are daicy issues that should be handled with care. There has to be a renegotiation and that's it.

nice try

its just that any gains to be had by your frugality is negated by the approximately 1 million almajiri introduced into the zoo's population every year.

zoogeria cannot meet up with her education, health care, social welfare schemes etc obligations without having loans advanced to her by lending "slave master" nations.

zoogeria is, for all intents and purposes, headed for perpetual enslavement on the cotton fields of her creditors.

deal with it!
