Ndidi plays in a club that, two seasons ago, won the EPL.
Ndidi's stats are better than Kante and Torriera.
What is more better than that in comparison to the DM CAF nominated?
..well, Ndidi was not part of the team that won the epl...Ndidi plays regular football at leicester so does partey...Althetico is a much better club than leicester.

No Nigerian player has been impressive in the last 3years. CAF made the right call. John Ogu is entitled to his opinion but it's insignificant.

Nigerians with entitled mindset still thinks the world is waiting for them. Hell No! You must earn every respect and accolades.
Ndidi is arguably the best Nigerian player right now. He is good as far as Nigerian player are concerned. Regrettably, no Nigerian player has been impressive after Moses at Chelsea. John Ogu is entitled to his opinion as you tightly said and he is wrong here. CAF selected the right players.

Bro, partey is more of a good passer dan Ndidi. He’s one of the underrated player in Africa.

Mahrez and Keita shouldn’t av made d list ahead of Ndidi
Mahrez and Keira don't play in the same position with Ndidi.

Performance wise, both have been good. This not because of who plays for a bigger club.Partey won Europa league and super cup while Ndidi has been instrumental for Leicester and played very well at the world cup.Question is what is Mahrez doing there??No trophy,No WC apperance and was average.Keita had a good first half of the year but has been unfit and hasn't had a good 2nd half performance of the year

Was it a political appointment? I though they were voted for, why are we this sentimental. When Nigerian's players were winning, they simply met the criteria. Na wa o.

I don't agree with Ogu. No Nigerian player merits a place in CAF best 11.
Thomas Partey has been a solid player for Athletico Madrid who won the European Cup last season. While Keita made the Bundesliga team of the season with Redbull before his transfer Liverpool.

Talk about Ekong, he played for a modest Turkish club last season and he was not even Nigerias best centre back in Russia.

It is noteworthy that this award is all about Prestige. A low profile player cannot make this kind of list. The competitions players rated, play in matter. Ekong and Ndidi do not play for clubs who participate in European competitions.

Finally, somebody ask Ogu why Abu Treka never won the African player of the year. If not for club profile.

Nigerians used to dominate this list some 20yrs ago with little or no fuss. How the mighty have fallen.

He should go and sleep somewhere jare, is it the once that are playing for money in China or the once warming benches in England. Who among the players on that list shouldn’t be there bros Ogu?

Bailly, Aurier and Navy Keita. Bailey and Aurier were bench warmers last season and when they get the chance, they play bad plus their country didn't even make the world cup.

Agreed and this isnt down to the state of either club two years ago.

Ndidi's stats are better than Kante and Torreria and Jorginho. He was a regular last season and has been "undropable" this season. I was shocked myself when Sky Sports did a review of that.
Anyway, CAF may have looked at the state of Nigeria in general and decided that they do not want to make their list "lifeless." On that note, I think they are right.

What's mahrez doing in midfielder position? And Coulibaly is not a left full back. Africa as a continent is a joke.

We are here whipping up sentiment, these players we claim are not as good as Nigerian players, do u watch them week in week out? One must do that objectively then juxtapose them, then you will see that Nigerian players still d learn work Wey them dey. Can't compare Thomas Pate to Ndidi. Pate is a better player, shikina

Troost-Ekong had a great season in Turkey, big World Cup and doing amazingly well with Udinese to end a perfect 2018. So why Bailey over him?

Neither Partey nor Keita has seen more actions and more decisive for their respective clubs as Ndidi

Shame on Caf
me sef come taya bailey wey no dey play enter top 11..dat means me sef suppose dey inside dis mumu list nah.

Bailey made 13 appearances for Man utd last season(2017/2018) and most of it was in 2018, even when he's afforded a chance he plays bad, this season he has 8 appearances, still unconvincing. He wasn't at the world cup. How does it deserve to be on African best XI. Troost Ekong deserves it more, if not for his performances in Turkey, then his world cup and performances at Udinese this season should justify his inclusion ahead of Bailey.

Aurier was bench warming for Trippier throughout last season, are African footballers that bad?

Ndidi is one of the best defensive midfielders in the EPL, check the stats. He should be on the list with Thomas partey and one of Keita or Mahrez should drop out.

Winfred Ndidi is a valid case, but the issue is he will compete with Atletico Madrid's Amartey for DM position.

Musa played well in WC, but difficult to dispalce the CAF 11 forward of Salah, Mane and Aubameyang

Bailey had 13 appearance in the whole of 2017/2018 season and so far this just 8 for this season. We are jokers in Africa

Someone should tell Mr. Ogu that you can't give what you don't have. Nigeria certainly does not have them.

I agree intoto with John Ogu. I have already criticized the entire CAF selections, myself, on twitter yesterday.

Wilfred Ndidi should make that list. He's better than both Patey and Keita. Ekong also is better than Bailley, so he not making the list doesn't make sense either. But, hey, that's CAF for you ... they never fail to disappoint.

In addition, Fancesca Odega ought to be crowned the AFPOY. She won the Women's AFCON, the South African lady didn't win nada. Finally, a case could be made that Sadio Mane deserves the APOY more than Salah. Mane had a better World Cup and he's having a better season so far. Football isn't only about goals shocked

O pari
I disagree with you on the last paragraph.... no fan will ever be happy after paying to watch a 0-0 game, Football is all about Goals!!

Ndidi and Hakimi should have made the team ahead of Keita and Aurier. I don’t know what a Bailly did to deserve his selection though.
