Story, story...

The developed countries that account for 95% of global warming are still hypocritical about curbing it. Only Donald Trump has come out openly to say America won't be part of IPCC resolutions because fossil fuels drive their industries.

Africa accounts for less than 5% of global warming. How many cars do Africans drive, how many medium or heavy industries do Africans have?

Only the developed world can stop global warming by conscious efforts.

Next story please.

Earlier this year, Nigeria became a part of Paris agreement when President Muhammadu Buhari signed the treaty to reduce the greenhouse effect and fight against global warming. Additionally, the country is also a party signing the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations to make an absolute commitment to prioritize pollution reduction before 2030.

In fact, big cities in Nigeria are considered as the worst of the world when it comes to air pollution. Not to mention, the Nigeria’s pollution level has been estimated to be on the rise while other countries have shifted to green vehicles which do not run on diesel and petrol. Using diesel and petrol vehicles is one of the main reasons leading to pollution all over the world.

For those reasons, Nigeria may have an official forbiddance for diesel and petrol vehicles in the next 10 years.

Nigeria may have an official forbiddance for diesel and petrol vehicles in the next 10 years

In Nigeria, oil is known for constituing a great proportion of revenue for the country. If the government decides to ban vehicles using diesel and petrol, it also means a suicide for this revenue of the nation. Since the the national finance falls down, there won't be enough budget for the implementation of many national development projects. Energy analysts feared that the replacement of fossil fuel could lead to a half reduction of oil profit in Nigeria in the next decade.

In Nigeria, oil is known as great revenue of the whole country

However, the country is still able to overcome the difficulty. In fact, mining contributes just around 0.3% to Nigeria’s GDP. Mr. Prof. Eguakhide Oaikhinan, the Managing Director of Epina Technology Limited, said that when oil was replaced by other batteries, the fuel market would be explored by mineral resources such as graphite, cobalt and lithium which promised to become a new source of national earning.

This belief is further confirmed by the fact that the crude oil importers namely the United Kingdom, India, Italy and Netherlands have already moved to seek other energies even when they set a certain plan to cut down on the number of diesel and petrol vehicles in their countries.

Opposing the decision of U.S., U.K., France, Norway and India to stop the new sales of cars running with petrol or diesel, Mr. Aliyu Jelani, the Director General of Agency for Automotive Development claims optimistically that the government of Nigeria is ready to guide its people to lessen their dependance on diesel and petrol cars.

The designer of General Motors’ Chevy Volt, Jelani who was selected by the Federal Government stated that stakeholders in the automobile policy in the country must change attention into green vehicles.

According to him, the government would inspire investors, especially those who had Nigerian nationality in the diaspora, and the nation’s friends all over the world, to invest in green cars.

However, some stakeholders expressed their low expectation for Nigeria’s willingness to carry out the green revolution. They explained that the nation still did not have enough necessary infrastructure, particularly supply of electricity to produce electric vehicles.

In addition to worrying about income shortfalls, Olarewaju called for a life-ending policy to reduce environmental pollution when Africa, especially Nigeria, is expected to become the dump of discarded oil products.

Dr. Victor Fodeke, the Director General of Africa Clean Energy Summit stated that it was necessary to have a complete plan that would allow green cars to enter Nigeria.

Hypocrisy!!

we in Africa need to get our gigs right to rescue our self from modern slave trade in our own country, if they really know they are not trying to keep enslaving us they should provide an avenue for technology transfer, Nigeria as a country should follow the part of china and stop the tribal and religion war to create enable environment for development , so we can at least be able to meet up with the rest of the world.

this modern day colonialism, you can not sign such Paris agreement to green whatever because Europe , and America has used the diesel and petrol for more than a century , we have not yet developed to that level, this is an attempt to trap down developing nations as consuming nation of used second hand goods, we are just solving refinery problem and we have not even done that yet , probably the refinary will be useless upon completion due to the so called invisible handcuff called Paris greener world agreement, Nnewi Innoson plant does not have the capacity to divert to electric car production yet.

these are the same people who attacked Libya because one man in person of the Great Ghadaffi is using women as his personal security guards, brainwashed his people and murdered him, but could not stop the atrocities going on in Libya right now, when do you think libya need their help most? then or now? Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy is the contrivance of a false appearance of virtue or goodness, while concealing real character or inclinations, especially with respect to religious and moral beliefs; hence, in a general sense, hypocrisy may involve dissimulation, pretense, or a sham

I thank God for China who is doing its best to rescue its people from economy slavery, they are now using trade war against them.

African youth should stand up because the old men we have there are near their graves and are only good at looting.
as I type right now, I'm unemployed , no loan to push idea or develop it, no job

the working population are in invisible handcuff like me because government is busy looting and sharing 10,000 trader money

our education is useless, how can our faculty of Mechanical Engineering who should highly skillful on the job be taking vehicles to fix at road side mechanic shop, do they even have a spanner in that faculty of engineering? how do you want the student to be useful to employer?
are we going to school to learn theories alone? do you know how used clothes has crippled our textile industries which would have employed thousand of people? who is the beneficiary of that? foreign citizen who work in textiles industries overseas , their government ensured their job in textiles industries are well protected by making sure old unsold stocks are sold developing countries like Nigeria, doing more damages to our textile industries ..

if our old leaders keep failing irrespective of their political parties then we will continue to bleed , remain undeveloped and keep swimming in poverty.
