All the things himself and yourself mentioned were done/started during this line of APC governorship administration.

He has not added anything new.

PS:

1. I am surprised though - we have a rail line running from Iju to Ebute meta... no is talking about renovating that and getting better trains... They are all interested in building a new one? Is it that those previous rail lines can’t be relayed and used by newer trains or they simply want to keep using those trains in a ‘mega city’? Something is fishy.

2. And I am disappointed APC is not considering investing in Lagos’s personal power grid. There is so much money to be made by the private and public sector if Lagos could define its on energy generation and distribution sector - so that Lagos could at least have near-24 hours power supply. Enough of building roads, rails and bridges- those are all basic government responsibilities.

You are very wrong on your comments above.

The rail line you mentioned ;Iju- ebute metta is a federal government infrastructure and not released to Lagos state Government to execute the rail transport system plan. Moreover, they have secured the approval from the administration of president BUHARI for that corridor.

For power, it has a lot of legal frameworks not tidied well by previous administration, which has make it difficult for the state to generate it's own power. But recently, Sanwo olu have started the conversation with DISCOs in Lagos to unravel the continued epileptic power supply experienced in Lagos state and have pledge to enable progress and development in that sector.

Please watch TV360 debate with Agbaje recently.

Forget about approval bla bla bla did fashola seek approval from federal govt before creating BRT on Ikorodu road? Did Ambode seek approval before destroying lagos to Abeokuta express road?

That's a big lie. They can never fix transportation issues. Lagosians probably spend half of their lives in traffic

Among the issues against Ambode is failure to finance the rail project and suspension of fourth mainland bridge.

Yes Fashola did under Yaradua. The BRT is on Federal road. Lagos must seek approval.

This is Jimi Agbaje's idea but very welcome. Lagos is 65% water. Its GDP will increase by 300% if we start using boats, ferries, barges and lighters to move people and goods.
Kudos to Sanwo Olu, kudos to Jimi Agbaje

Thank you for your comments...

I am very happy to educate you on this; and with all respect I really do not need to watch a debate from politicians to know what they can do or cannot do.

1. You are right that the iju-ebutemeta rail is a federal railway. On a second thought - I think it’s part of the plan for the Ibadan Lagos railway construction - perhaps that’s the reason the Lagos state government isn’t touching it. But your logic on federal railway does not work - especially where the ruling party is also the ruling state government. The Lagos/Abk express road (fro
Oshodi to Sango) is a federal road - Buh the Lagos state government is the one constructing it. It all depends on the agreement - so if the state wanted to work on a rail network - the federal government should naturally oblige.

2. You are wrong about the power stuff - and I have attached an extract of the concurrent list to you. State governments can indeed generate and legislate on power generation if they want. It simply is a lack of political will - because some of these politicians are benefitting from the present structure. There is no legal hurdle more than what the constitution says... if you want to create your gridlock - your HoA simply needs to legislate on rhis, approve the budget and implement. It’s just like Education - you can create your own policies. Don’t be hoodwinked by what politicians says.

[quote author=adebuk17 post=74708589]The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has promised to find an enduring solution to the perennial traffic jam in the state with the creation of alternatives to road transport system.

The governorship candidate said he had identified about 60 points where traffic was usually heavy in the state, adding that his administration planned to adopt integrated transport system as well as direct traffic to the free lanes during rush hours.

Sanwo-Olu, who said this in an interview with UHURU TIMES, a Lagos-based publication, promised to complete the rail track currently under construction and invest in water transportation in order to reduce the number of people travelling by road on a daily basis.

The APC candidate stated that waterways that required dredging would be attended to so that boats could travel fast, adding that the complaint of low returns by boat operators would be looked into.

He said, “Our focus is beyond just road travels within the state. We are thinking about an integrated transportation system befitting of a megacity state like Lagos. One third of Lagos is water and that suggests that we have a huge water transportation opportunity and alternative. The waterways need to be properly mapped out to help navigation.

“We also have the rail project that we need to complete, especially the Blueline from Okokomaiko to CMS. We need to complete the track. It is about funding and we will find a way of completing that rail project. Lagos needs a transportation system outside the road; a transportation system that can move thousands of people daily.”

He urged Lagosians to change their orientation about the way they use the road, saying some behaviours, aiding to the traffic congestion, should be dropped in the interest of everybody.

Speaking on waste management, Sanwo-Olu said waste problem would be better tackled if individuals could start to sort their waste and stop mixing organic waste with plastics and bottles.

He promised to make better the over 1,300 public primary schools in the state and improve on the infrastructure in the primary, secondary and tertiary institutions owned by the state government because of the importance of education.

A visionary leader he is.
Sanwo Olu All the way.

Do not leave Ambode to querry SanwoOlu.

Please, ask His Excellency the following qyestions: How consultatively he ran the present administration with any commissioner,HOS,PS,Director down to the bottom of the civil service in Lagos state?

Who asked His Excellency to scrap the Eko Rice Mill in Imota,a project funded far greatly by the World bank?

What happens to projects and programmes created by the last administration?

His Excellency gets budgeted funds or not for these?

Why if His Excellency would rather these projects and programmes go moribund?

The scrap of this mill has to be taken maybe to the World Bank that financed it and not left to hold unproductively land meant for better use.

Let us leave for now other disservices to this state by His Excellency.

Please, help ask also when His Excellency will pay the cost of the mill to the state.

Mr. SanwoOlu,if God gets you to steward the Lagos House, have mercy on the public by keeping well the projects and programmes completed or ongoing by your predecessors.

Questions that should be asked are:

Why has the present government (in which you were a senior government official) not implement same system as you both come from the same PARTY?

Why should we believe your government will complete the rail track between Okokomiako to CMS when the current government (of which you were a SENIOR official) cannot rehabilitate Lagos - Badagry Expressway? When has constructing a rail track become MORE easier than a road?
Lagos state is bigger than your yard, there is plan to tackle the development in the state, gradually if the projects aren't abandoned,Lagos state will be totally developed

Mistake: Assuming I don't reside in Lagos. What if I'm a resident? Do I not have the right to QUESTION his proposed policies? Or must I be an indigene before I'm qualified to question a public official?

there is plan to tackle the development in the state, gradually if the projects aren't abandoned,Lagos state will be totally developed

You know that's a lie but hey! You're at liberty to believe whatever you think.
