My best bet is reading. How did u learn to talk ? By hearing others talk. How do you learn to write ? By reading. Reading has a way of teaching you how to write subconsciously. Read novels daily for the next 3 months and I assure you, you’ll be using new dictions in your sentences you’ll wonder how you acquired them

Let me tell you something, one of the hardest things for a writer to do is to write. You have to listen to those above who say dont be lazy and don't procastinate. I do procastinate alot, i work well under pressure. If i am given, lets say 6 months to complete a particular story, i would lazy around for 5 months before i start. Its not good cos my work won't be as good as i know it can be. You have to start early, write and re-write. Question every dialogue, every sentence needs fine tuning then another fine tuning, make the sentence so that it is understandable and grabs d point u want to make. You need someone who will urge u on and you need another writer that will write with you. I have found that writing with someone as creative as you are, makes the whole process fun and your dialogues just sounds real. Finally, you need to have a fluid mind, think outside d box, think inside the box, create your own box, turn it upside down and think, anything is possible. grin in the world of writing.

i will suggest he train himself in descriptive writing, one of the very interesting forms of writing that give one the opportunity to be more creative both in thinking and writing, but most importantly you must think outside the box because you have to see things so differently and read deeper meanings into things, also learn to build your word bank and keep journals too... Many thanks to Aunty debbie Ogunjobi a creative columnist with vanguard newspaper that wonderful woman really inspired me so much, you can imagine keeping journals of her works for almost 7years...God bless her wherever she is

To be a good writer you need a lot of experience in this field. Start writing short stories, use the help of more experienced specialists to highlight their skills. I did it that way. I used help of custom papers online to improve my own skills in writing and now i can say it worked... Do not avoid the advice of professionals, look for your way to improvement and as a result you will become an excellent writer.

1. You have to first develop the interest in writing, the interest could be inherent or you could acquired either ways, interest should come first. Its this interest that will keep you going and also make you go the extra mile.
2. Read.. Yes you need to read. Reading is to writing what crawling is to walking. Go to sites like Quora, read and answer questions.
3. Start a journal where you write and read for yourself, write about every and anything, you dont need to be perfect so dont watch out for mistakes or struggle so hard to make it interesting. Its just discover your own voice
4. Use the internet to learn about basic writing skills, parts of speech, figures of speech, new words and other necessary information
5. Decide what exactly you have passion writing about and create your own niche around your passion
6. When you write be true to yourself, let your experiences, friends, fears, hopes, beliefs and knowledge shape your writes ups. It makes your work original as our life experiences and aspirations are peculiar.
6. The main tip learing to write is to keep writing, "YOU LEARN TO WRITE BY WRINTING"

2. Search for the book titled 'Mastery' By Robert Greene.. Read


3. Do midnight sub.

4. Download Ted Talks From Writers at least 50 and listen.

If you successfully do these...




Then, you have the commitment needed for a writer...



1. You need a mentor.. I might still be a baby but I can give you directions..

b. Freelance Writing
c. Blog articles.
d. Owning your own blog.



2. You will write like a hypnotised fool.

3. Read and Train till you stop writing in life.


4. You'll need to study strategic TV series

like those from Shonda Rhimes or George R.R Martins..



5. Then have a mind that keeps questioning life..

It depend on what you're writing. Here are the basics;

Master your spellings.
Master your grammar; learn to write simple, compound, complex and compound complex sentences in a clear concise manner.
Practice.
Read excellent writings, especially in the areas you want to write on.

First of all, you must have interest in writing, and by writing I don't mean writing a one-liner, like ''how can I be a good writer？.''

Even by your very question, you haven't been able to speak your mind about why you have that question, even what you intend to achieve. You're still holding back something in your mind. But to be a good writer, you have to first be able to speak your mind freely.

Well, you must love reading and writing, read lot of books, become active user of Nairaland.

If you want to be a good writer, read books by people like, Chinua Achebe, Ngozi Adiche. You can follow Farook Kperogi on facebook. Those people know how to write English very well. Books writen by ENGLISH people themselves also highly recommended.

I just want to believe you're asking this questions for the right reasons Until you decide to school yourself and be reasonably groomed you would never know writing is so vast, there's more to writing and becoming a good writer....Imagine you creating a mood just to put your thought in perspective in the mind of the reader....I hope am having your doubt cleared?

Don't be too ashamed when they disapprove of your work. Try again and let them constructively criticize.
