Is success really overrated?
If there is one thing everyone craves for in this present life that we live in, then it is success, but unfortunately not everyone knows the real meaning or the exact meaning of being successful in life. Everyone tends to define success according to their own terms and belief.
I dont really know what comes to your mind whenever you think or hear the word success but I can bet not everyone knows the real meaning of being successful, while many attribute success to riches, material things, wealth and other society created dreams and wants, other thinks success is when you achieve your aims and goals and some sees success as a stop or the end of life where they start to enjoy all theyve worked for.
Whichever way you define success, you dont have to be rich before you are successful unless you have included wealth in your dreams and goals. But due to the relentless and continuous yearning for success, this has made every single person see being successful as a yardstick to a meaningful life; thereby working day by day to get to that place theyve always wanted to be.
Not everyone is actually born to be successful, theres actually a limit to everything you can do in this life but only a few and extra-ordinary people manage to break barriers and go higher just as Abraham Moscow stated the more you have, the more you desire to have. This explains the reason why we cant just say we are successful at one point of our life when we have achieved some goals, because we tend to set new goals and set higher standards for ourselves. So enjoy the little you have because one day you will look back and realize they are the great things.
Actually the society has given us practical example of people who are successful such as Bill Gates, Dangote, Wills Nelson and other remarkable personalities who have proven to be the definition of success in their own way. Like I said earlier, the above named examples have made people yearn more for success and pursuit goals which originally not theirs making them to start leaving a life that is not theirs.
Success definition isnt centered on big cars, houses wealth and riches, sometimes success is your state of mind, not every rich people are successful, not every wealthy men are happy but every successful men are happy and that is the attribute common to every successful personalities today. Quality time spent on family and loved ones are also important as this shapes the peoples opinion about you. What about good health as your health is as important as anything you own in the world?
That celebrity you look up to may be lonely, that Hollywood actor/actress you look up to might not have a happy family, that rich woman who drives the latest car in your environment may be a barren as we all know that everything that glitters is not necessarily gold. Whatever you have, be happy with it, work hard but play harder, success isnt always as it seems, in fact it overrated, all you need it time, peace and patience.

I will love to get your comment and review on this write-up
Thanks.
