Nigeria can you see yourself, are we not the one that ought to give them financial aid? it have finish in this country.
GE9JA:
Nigeria can explore $5bn line of credit with low interest rate from India, the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Abhay Thakur, has said.

Thakur made the disclosure when he visited the Minister of Communications, Adebayo Shittu, according to a statement made available to our correspondent in Abuja on Monday.

He said that the Prime Minister of India made available to Africa $10bn credit line during India – Africa Forum Summit out of which only fifty per cent had been utilised.

The Indian envoy added that Nigeria had the opportunity to explore the credit line which had an interest rate of only 1.75 per cent.

“This is a good facility which to my knowledge half of it has just been utilised and for Nigeria, we can enhance our areas of collaboration,” the envoy said.

Thakur said India was making moves to upgrade the bilateral agreement existing between both countries in the areas of human capacity development, e-government, industrialisation and Information and Communications Technology.

Responding, Shittu said India was one of the best countries Nigeria had enjoyed a relationship with in terms of partnership.

Shittu said, “In the area of bilateral agreement, we can raise a team to work on crucial areas and look at the details and appraise what we can do on low hanging fruit that would be beneficial to both countries.

“A lot of Indian companies had often indicated interest to invest in Nigeria by way of establishing industries but rarely translate such into action, hence, the need to encourage them to translate such interest into reality.”

The minister called on the envoy to encourage India investors to establish a 5G village in Nigeria and also partner with stakeholders in building the proposed ICT Park in Abuja which is expected to be located in a free trade zone that would add beauty and elegance to the country as well as boost revenue base of the investors.

When one of the world's poorest country starts loaning you money , it means you're finished completely.

Buhari has succeded in ruining the economy of Nigeria so bad that A POVERTY STRICKEN COUNTRY LIKE INDIA, took pity on Nigeria by offering her a credit life line .
Moreover, I thought they said majority of homes in this same country loaning out such huge money have no toilets. This is 'misplaced priority'.

For those that don't know. This move from India is a direct challenge to Chinas presence here in Africa and the Chinese would be damn sure agitated about this development.

There's more to this than India just wanting to offer aid to Nigeria. I'm sure this is a strategy straight out of their foreign policy towards Africa.

India is also the biggest contender to China and the Chinese know it.
1. They're the second most populous nation in the world >1.2 bn
2. They have the 7th biggest economy by nominal GDP and projected to be the 5th by 2020. They're the 3rd biggest by Purchasing power only after China and USA.

3. The CEO‘s of Microsoft and Google ate Indians.

5. They churn out the highest numbers of Engineering graduates yearly and their engineers are the biggest beneficiaries if the US H1B visa.

There are lots of indicators that I can reel out to buttress that they're capable of offering Nigeria such loan.

They're evening becoming a formidable force to reckon with in Space technology.

Eventually, all these are tactics and strategies by their government to elevate India‘s pedestal in the international arena dominated by the current world powers and as it stands not even China can stop them.

So much hatred, wick speech and foul languages in the air. That is the air being emitted in NIGERIA and you want the country to progress whether under buhari or not. What has buhari got to do with your ethics and value system?
I believe we should all look and rethink our future for this nation and start using progresives words like great, prosperous, blessed, Good system, etc...
As a man thinketh? So is he.

No matter how cloudy the world economy is, the Nigeria I want to leave for my children will be in prosperity, happiness and sunshine.
We should give the Indians a break they are also trying to grow themselves. If i was you, I will try to find out how to gain from this opportunity instead of cursing your future already today.
People like Dino melaye and the obasanjos and dangotes will benefit from this type of opportunity but you guys will be busy insulting them, instead of pushing yourself forward as well.
Rethink your future my people.
You cursed the presidents yesterday, and you expect progress today.

Thank you.

When one of the world's poorest country starts loaning you money,
India stopped being among world's poorest countries long back in some 70s and 80s. Economic liberalization of 1991 has put India miles ahead of other countries of its class at that time.

India's poverty is highlighted because of several conflicts with Western world during cold war, technological rivalry with countries which are relatively richer and mostly British media beating drum against India because England can't do anything better.
NaijaRoyalty:
that means you're finished completely.
Plot a war. Put India one side alone and entire Africa on other side. African governments and armies will be down to knees in days if not hours. India will incur insignificant damage, may be even less than 100 soldiers.

Is that you use to soothe your nationalism? Comparing India and Nigeria is like apple and oranges. India out performs you by far.

India is an Asian country and lags behind Asian standards that even primarily East Asian standards, not African standards or even far by Nigerian standards. Moreover, India's a great power and all other big powers are richer than India is. Although, India's catching up very fast. They troll us on our forums.

Calling India poor isn't going to make you equal to them. Africans should be last people on planet to call Indians poor.
NaijaRoyalty:

There is nothing new. India's already a donor.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_development_aid_country_donors

Even before it, there are lot of Indian projects have been running on loan or donations from India in African countries.

Mystick:
Even India that was once the poorest country before Buhari overthrown them to that inglorious position, now dishes out loan to us?
Hmm there is hope for Zimbabwe, that before 2023 they will start giving us loan if this disaster of a president returns reelected.
Zimbabwe doesn't have an economy of $3 trillions that even growing very fast or the massive work budget of $750 billions. Nor it has any technology.
Nigeriadondie:
lipsrsealed Nigeria is really cursed beyond redemption and without shame. Of all countries, India that is so poor whom we just overtook as the world’s poverty capital.
BabaIbo:
Even India
How long you guys are going to fool yourself? India was never poorer than Nigeria. At least in last 15 years.

By your logic, Russia is poorer than Burundi because Russia has higher number of poor people despite Burundi's 60-70% population is poor?

10 years ago, if India had double number of people than poors if Nigeria, then it also had 11 times more non poor people than Nigeria. Right now, India's poverty percentage went so low that it didn't have highest number despite that big population. Because India is about turn into an upper middle economy from lower middle economy. Starting a new stage of development as it has already solved hunger issues & extreme poverty.
Mystick:
The other time it was Pakistan dumping old aircrafts all in the name of donating to fight terror.
Pakistan? lipsrsealed
Now, actually finished.cheesy

Pekele007:
India wey no get toilet
Last time I checked,
Indains without toilets: 19 millions (1.4%)
Nigerians without toilets: 47 millions (26%)

Nigeria needs more toilets than India.
