Have got trouble wit ma Peugeot 307.
Just gets overheated after short distances.
Some mechs have tried fixing it, but to no avail
....very annoying, yuh know !

Does it show STOP when it overheats?

When did this start and what have you tried?

engine oil coolant sensor might have failed. scan for error code!!

your engine oil is boiling!!!!

Yes it does. When d temp. reaches 90' it begins to show warning sign, after which it shows stop and STOPS.

It was my mom dat was using it, though she kept it for sometime because of d same issue. I picked it up around december last year, but since then i have not been able to fix d prob. Although mechanics have tried to check d water pipes and seals, and later changed d top gasket, but d prob still persists. They have now advised that I change d radiator.

90 is meant to be optimal running temperature.
I'm suspecting a sensor or something what's your location?

in a nutshell, when the oil/coolant sensor goes bad......the ecu/fan module get no signal to operate hence the oil boils then to much temperature builds up and engine stops to protect itself.

simple fix and in expensive. if you had scanned the car 1st it will show up immediately instead of wasting money..........

It would isolate the real problem and is cheaper than changing parts I suspect a sensor or there is wrong wiring somewhere.

What I suspected there had been a lot of tampering with the car

Anti theft - with this on the car shouldn't start meaning immobilizer has been bypassed
Conductor non boucle is just your seat belt
Anti pollution - many causes
If is shows door open and doors are closed, another bypass or issue.

Peugeot isn't too bypass friendly.

check the cooling fans to see if they're working properly.

They say d fan is rolling fine.

You need to check the condition of the following components,
Water pump,
Head gasket(inspect you engine oil if is mixed with water same with coolant).if you can run morning gasket test(google how to check for bad head gasket).
Coolant temperature sensor(parameters test)
Incorrect timing setting
Water tank cap cover,
Bad thermostat (surely it must have bn removed),
Dirty radiator...
