MOMENT OF TRUTH
Why is APC afraid of youth mobilization?

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom State is a colony of jokers and cheap gossips. Recent press statement released by the party's campaign committee confirms it has ran out of ideas and exist merely to troll the internet and comment on mundane issues whereas it should be more concerned about extricating itself from countless embarrassing inanities spewing from its 'Warsaw' nationalist. Obviously, these thoughtless outings are ruining whatever slim chance it has to woo Akwa Ibom electorate.

Of course, nothing better is expected from a party whose public rating is already at rock bottom, with membership made largely of alleged drug addicts, ex-convicts and disgraced politicians. A case in point is the recent pitiful attempt to rub tar on the hardworking SA on Students' Affairs to Governor Emmanuel, Aquila Otobong, by the party's campaign spokesperson, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, who ended up exposing how insecure the party feels about overwhelming youth participation in the coming election. The question is: Why is APC afraid of Akwa Ibom youth?

The truth is that APC has no plan to empower the youths. Substantial evidence shows that APC is a coven of expired politicians, who would do anything to hold unto power while keeping younger people as their errand boys and girls. This is a party filled with former this, former that, who should have long retired from politics to take advisory roles and guide the younger generation in leadership. Unfortunately, these are the ones fighting tooth and nail to 'stay relevant'! While other parties are giving opportunity to young men and women at various levels of leadership, the APC is busy arming youths to become political thugs and ballot box snatchers.

Over the years, youths have lost their lives for APC, how have they been compensated? Who is talking about the victims of a vicious ambush and massacre of ACN supporters in Ikot Ekpene, under the watchful eyes of former governor Godswill Akpabio? The last APC Governorship and House of Assemblies primaries in the state, which were marred by large-scale violence, killings and bloodshed is enough to educate every Akwa Ibom youth what the party plans for them. How many leaders of the party died? None! How many of their children died or suffered matchete wounds in the violence? None!

What compensation has been paid to the widow and three little kids left behind by the slain APC supporter, late Ukeme Efanga? None! Has the killers of Engineer Emmanuel Asuquo and Ukeme Effanga, who are known APC members been brought to justice? No! The entire bloody event has been swept under carpet by the leadership of APC as if it never happened. Yet, a certain political mercenary whose only motivation is to form a nexus between relevance and lining his depleted pocket, goes about making noise about 'pickings' and molestation of youths.

Talking about 'pickings', can the governorship flagbearer of APC, Obong Nsima Ekere - the Managing Director of NDDC, explain what happened to annual Christmas empowerment of youths in the Niger Delta since he came into office? Akwa Ibom share of this largesse of about N15million, which is routine in the Commission, suddenly stopped. Why? Why has it become extremely difficult for Akwa Ibom youths to access empowerment programmes in the Commission recently. Why do they have to 'belong' to groups headed by his aides before they can benefit? Will all Akwa Ibom students have to be initiated into cultistism before they can access this imaginary bursary of N25, 000?

Akwa Ibom youths, asked questions! Do not be fooled by desperate politicians who are more interested in grabbing power for selfish reasons. The future of our state is too great and precious to be left to men of questionable character with a history of abuse and violence. We must RISE and SECURE our FUTURE. We SHOULD NOT replace the PEACE in Akwa Ibom state with VIOLENCE. WE MUST STAND FOR PEACE! VOTE FOR A MAN WILL GUARANTEE OF PEACE!

I endorse this message.

Prince Emmanuel Sam,
The unstoppable voice of truth.
