So in your wisdom it is mischievous to compare two related occurences? You claimed Buhari obeyed a court order and I asked you why he didn't obey court orders on Dasuki and elzakyzaky, are you saying that obeying court orders should be selective?

Dasukis and elzaky's case are cases that bothered on national security which the president has the exclusive right to use all means necessary to protect national security even if the courts are against....the judges themselves knows that.....dont be misguided bro, there are many things we ordinary citizens may not fully understand when it comes to cases of national security....... Its beyond the usual follow due process or rule of law.....be informed

RUBBISH!

Different issues are commenced in special courts does not mean they are the final court! Appeal can still be made from these courts to Court of Appeal and then supreme court.

Code of conducts matters are commenced from CCT and appeals can be made from such courts to Court of Appeal

Let him go on Appeal.

The games Onnoghen played last week, the FG would play it's own this week.

You think only you people can frustrate court processes with frivolous suits and interlocutory injunctions?

Okay na.

All of these were offered to Onnoghen but he must have refused to step aside as he has collected money from PDP and must deliver the job he collected money for.

Apt. All this furore would've been unnecessary if the CJN had done the right thing which was to resign but he was rather playing smart, shopping for injunctions and postponing NJC's meeting. Another thing is that right now, we have effevtively ignored the man's guilt and though Buhari's action is not apt, someone had to take d bull by the horn rather than allow an individual play around d law..... Now, to ya'll shouting tyrant and all such, I ask these questions: Did d CJN admit that he 'forgot' to list some of his assets? Should we have allowed him continue seeking for injunctions and postponing NJC's meetings cause he feels they might have asked him to step aside? (Something he should've done without prompting)...... The Muhammadu Buhari I saw in action on Friday is the Buhari i campaigned and voted for in 2015 and I hope he'll continue to do the right thing irrespective of people's opinion
you are right, this CJN saga makes me seriously to consider voting PMB again next month.

Have you read the CCB act? The CJN did not violate any provisions of the act by admitting his mistake.
If he did not violate CCB law, why is he avoiding calling NJC meeting? If he doesn't trust fellow NJC members to give him a fair hearing, then something is wrong.

Onnoghen isn't coming back anywhere.
Tanko hasn't committed any crime I don't see why they should suspend him. I think it was better he accepted the acting CJN so as to have the powers to summon NJC meeting which the embattled CJN postponed indefinitely because only the chairman has the power to call the NJC meeting

You watch too much American war films

UK, US and EU combined can do nothing about this Onnoghen case. It's done and dusted.

What do you take a Nigerian President for? Did you see US and EU breath when the recent Congo election was rigged.

They only screamed the media and nothing happened. The new president that was backed by incumbent has been sworn in. So don't think the days of America is a God is still here.

China and Russia are as good allied as US and the entire EU.

You saw Russia send a warning message to US about Venezuela right? That's where world politics has gotten to now.

The Judiciary should focus on the forged ex parte order used to suspend Onnoghen, and give the Executive a dose of stress, so that the Executive will do things the right way next time.

It's like you don't understand what's happening.

You can apply for an injunction for a completed act. It's left for Onnoghen to prove that the order was defective and the court to agree. Before that is done, there'll be plenty plenty and plenty interlocutory applications before the matter is decided. By then, it would be 2021.

You're correct.

Tanko simply followed the constitutional provision.

Let Onnoghen go to Court. Let them go and find a judge they can bribe. By the time DSS shows the judge his own hidden accounts too, that's the end of the case.

The judiciary Onnoghen corrupted would destroy him.

Reality don begin set in...

This is what they should have asked the man to do from the beginning, but as usual, their default is always to defend the criminal first before common sense kicks in.

Yeah! The CJN must dance to the music he has played. I think no one is saying that he must not. But the issue is that why did Buhari speed the process when we know he is "Baba Go-slow"? There are 2 people in his cabinet that took almost 1 year for him to even sack despite real evidences (the public had to shout loud before they were sacked), and they were not prosecuted. It was when the VP was doing door to door campaign that people asked him about it, and he said they have just initiated the process of prosecuting them. After 2 years. Bad guy! Lol! And no one even knows if that is true. That is like over 24 months of real evidence. But this Buhari heard of the CJN and within 1 month, he suspended the man. Very funny man.

Number two, just like ex governor Fayose said that the Buhari that refused to obey court orders for almost 4 years now citing the inceration of El-Zakzaky and Dasuki, decided to quickly act on this CJN case. And funny the courts that Buhari refused to obey are higher courts to this one he rushed to obey.

Ha! This Buhari is a tyrant. This guy get a real stony heart. Very stony. Serious, Buhari is with no conscience. Very brutal man. And to think how many supported him just to boot Ex Pres Jonathan out is funny. This Buhari is 100% brutal. I can imagine if he has the military power he had in 1985 again. Ha! Fayose, FFK, Dino, etc will all be rotten in jail like he did in 1983 to 85. And i am sure, he will attempt to kidnap Rino Omokri in the US to be sent home, just like he tried kidnapping Umaru Diko on 1984.

The CJN does not need and should not step aside( if that means he should resign) cos that would mean that the people who wanted him out for clearly political reasons would have won.

He should RECLUSE himself on matters relating to the investigation once a petition gets to the NJC ( by the way, am still not aware of any petition to the NJC on this matter which speaks volumes).

What of if he resigns and he is later found out to be innocent, does he get back his position as CJN?

How can he be innocent of violating the law when he himself admitted as much? How can he ever provide legal sources of the millions of dollars in his accounts?

He's already tainted and therefore lost the moral and legal argument to remain in his position

Did Buhari step aside when he was accused of certificate forgery? Did Gandollar step aside? Did the CCT chairman himself step aside as he is still facing N10m bribery charge?

By tomorrow you will know between your impostor and Onnoggen who really is in charge.

The erstwhile CJN admitted to legal infractions and owning questionable funds.

No one has provided evidence of the alleged certificate forgery by PMB.

Ganduje's video only shows a man stuffing a few bundles of money inside his pockets. No lawyer can prove bribery or corruption on the basis of that alone.

But then your entire repugnant reputation in nairaland is one founded on your ignominious defense of everything corrupt and crooked, which probably means you're a beneficiary of the rot in the system occasioned by the PDP.

You dey mind them.

They have been totally isolated on this matter like I said they would.

Let them play with the core of the Law profession and see if they will survive. And like I said yesterday, no lawyer even those in Buhari Govt would ever openly support what he did. To remove a CJN the way it was done is akin to sticking a knife in the heart of every lawyer.

They will start to get a feeling of their misguided ways tomorrow after NBA Emergency meeting
FYI,d NBA can only plead with the nass to help plead with pmb to reinstate onnoghen wch I know pmb won't do

The problem with what this paper is proposing is that Onnoghen does not want to play fair..he would not step down nor would be put himself in front of the CCT -all we would be getting would be frivolous injunctions, till kingdom come. Nigerian elite do not believe in justice.

In saner climes, the self confessed criminal, crooked and law breaker won't be in office as we speak, he's yet to resign and face arrest because Nigeria is too lawless and Nigerians, the real victims of cimes committed by corrupt officials like the disgraced CJ go out of their way to support and defend these criminals in public office.
