Legendary Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has said that Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi was a better player than Argentine legend, Diego Maradona.

Ferguson stated this ahead of Barcelona’s La Liga fixture against Girona on Sunday evening at the Montilivi Stadium.

In an interview with The Times to honour legendary sportswriter,Hugh McIlvanney...he was asked to pick between Messi and Maradona who is better, Ferguson said Messi because Maradona’s career at the very top of football only lasted a few years.
