BREAKING NEWS: Justice Onnoghen Remains Nigeria's, Chief Justice. - NJC.

Officials of the Nigeria Justice Commission (NJC) has reacted to the alleged suspension of the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Walter Onnoghen by President Buhari stating that the action is of no effect to the hierarchy of the Nigerian Judiciary headed by Justice Onnonghen.

"The President is aware of the limitation of his constitutional powers as relates to the suspension, sacking and appointment of a chief Justices".
The actions of Mr President should be disregarded by Nigerians and the International community as it is of no effect".

CJN holds office at the pleasure of the Nigerian constitution and can only be removed from office by death or on attainment of age 70 whichever occurs first or by impeachment by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which requires a super majority of the members of the Nigerian Senate
