Jd: When did you know that there was a vacancy?

Sanwo: When APC declared a contest for the primary.

Jd: But there's a tradition that governors get 2nd term


Sanwo: There were many people that wanted to run. I know about 6 people that wanted to run

Jimi Disu tries to pin him down on rumours of Ambode's impeachment. Sanwoolu said that he also heard about it yesterday night, like anyone else

Jimi Disu says that Sanwo-Olu's posters are everywhere.

Sanwo-Olu says that most of the posters are not from his organisation. He says its goodwill from the public.

Sanwo-Olu says he was intimidated when he saw the life sized portrait of himself on Awolowo Road

He says that his people are actually removing some of the posters and banners, especially those that pose a hazard to traffic (especially now that the rains have started).

Jimi Disu says that the traffic problem might drag on to May 29 if nothing is done about it in the next one week

Sanwo-Olu says he already has a team of volunteers that are working on the traffic problem

Jimi Disu wants them to focus on the traffic on Eko Bridge.

Sanwoolu says that the problem is the tankers. He said he met with the NPA boss last week and that Fashola was around last week and they are discussing about the problem

This guy is really knowledgeable. He and Hamzat have both done their homework well. They understand the problems and know what they're supposed to do when they get there.

Jimi Disu asks how the problem will be solved.

Sanwoolu said that he asked himself where the tankers were before now. He says that the last regime concessioned the port and that most of these trailers were parked in the port before.

He said the concessionaires do not want the trailers at the port anymore and they only want containers there. So they drove the trailers out of the port.

He said that they are going to provide alternative parking spaces for the trailers (like they previously did for tankers).

He said that he also discussed with the NPA boss about creating container ports in other places like Epe, Ikorodu, etc.

They are talking about sanitation.

Sanwo-olu is talking about sorting waste into plastic, glass, etc. He talks about waste to wealth, etc.

He says that government will provide different coloured bags for different types of wastes.

Collection will be house to house.

There will be highway managers.

Jimi Disu asks about truck pushers.

Sanwoolu says that they've already reduced the number of truck pushers. He says that the PSPs will discuss with the truck pushers in their area of responsibility.

He is talking about traffic management advocacy.

Jimi Disu suggested using traffic marshals and he says that they are working on that.

He said that it's only after discussion that enforcement will begin

Jimi Disu says that every available space is now a restaurant, a barber shop, etc.

He says its because many people are coming into Lagos because they believe that anything goes in Lagos. So he wants the environmental laws to be enforced.

Jimi Disu asks if the population of the state bothers him.

He says that the most troubling one for him is the hoardes of Okada riders that have invaded the state.

He says that they don't even look like Nigerians.

Sanwoolu says that the citizens registration that was started by BRF needs to continue and be enforced. He says that data is very important.

He says for example, an Okada rider who contravenes the law will not have his registration renewed
