Though the elite athletes are predictably and mostly from Kenya, there are also other top runners from Ethiopia, Morocco, Uganda, Australia, USA and Poland among many other countries that would be running.

To ensure a hitch-free race, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has closed off some roads between 6.00am -2.00pm (GMT+1) as follows:
1. Alaska Service Lane, Inward National Stadium (Teslim Balogun Stadium) from 1:00am -7.30am;

2. National Stadium (Teslim Balogun Stadium) to Ojuelegba, Onipanu and Anthony from 6.00am – 8.00am;

3. Anthony to Charlie Boy and Iyana Oworonshoki from 6:30am – 8:30am;

4. Third Mainland Bridge, including Adekunle Junction from 6:45am – 2.00pm.
