PoliticsAdvise Me On How To Use 2,000mw ‘stranded Electricity’ – Fashola Tells Csos by 4Ebisco(op): 4:22pm On Feb 03, 2018
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has urged Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to come-up with ideas and suggestions on how the 2,000 megawatts (MW) stranded at the national grid can be efficiently used.

Fashola gave the charge yesterday at an interactive session with CSOs and other stakeholders in Abuja on the Power Sector Recovery Programme (PSRP) of the Federal Government.

The PSRP is a series of policy action, operational, governance and financial interventions to be implemented by the Federal Government over the next five years to reset the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

The minister stated that the emphasis should be on how the stranded power now available could be efficiently distributed.

He said the action was the focus of government and the power sector operators in line with the PSRP initiatives.

He said: “The reality is that we have 7,000MW and we are selling 5,000MW. So, the conversation we should be having is how to connect to the remaining 2,000MW.”

Falz, AY, Jim Iyke and Ramsey Noah have been brought together as they gear up to be featured in a new Nollywood movie titled ‘Yoruba demon’

This was made known by Jim Iyke who shared photos of the four as they rock same designed white Agbada.

According to the Yoruba’s, A ‘Yoruba demon’ is typically a young man of Yoruba descent who has the uncanny gift to effortlessly make ladies fall head over heels in love with him. He is naturally a gifted smooth talker and Casanova and prides himself in been able to acquire a huge followership of female admirers and side chicks. He is also gifted at absolving himself of any responsibility in his relationships. Generally, he is a seductive cock-tail of sweet and bitter.

In the photos below the stars gang up in white Agbada which has a significant meaning in the Yoruba land.

A Nigerian guy (Yoruba) who goes after a young lady's heart with no intention of loving her, they are typically met at parties, and would mostly wear white Agbada (clothing).

There is no going back after you date a Yoruba demon; you keep coming back for more, because you just can’t get enough or resist it.

TravelMan Crushes His Own Daughter To Death In Imo (must Read) by 4Ebisco(op): 10:05am On Feb 01, 2018
A businessman identified as Mr. Sunday Ibe, on wednesday mistakenly crushed his only child to death.

The incident occurred as he was trying to reverse his car at his home in Amakohia community, Imo State.

It was gathered that the father of one was not aware that his two year old child, Nkechi, was at the back of his Camry car when the incident occurred.

According to Sun, an eyewitness said Ibe, had handed over his daughter to the house-help to take her into his apartment not knowing that the maid allowed the little girl, stray out of the house and had crept at the back of the car.

He said, “The man did not know that the girl was at the back of the motor. It was with speed that he moved the motor backwards only for people around to raise alarm that he had killed the little baby.

“He carried the lifeless baby and on a blood-soaked shirt, raised his one hand into high heavens, crying and shouting, was asking God what type of temptation was projected to him and what would he tell his wife, who left for her village the previous day for a burial ceremony.”

It was learnt that neighbors and friends who gathered to help the situation took the baby to an undisclosed mortuary.

However, when contacted, the Imo state Police Command Spokesman, Mr. Andrew Enwerem ( SP), told Sun, that he was not aware of the incident.

CelebritiesSee What Happens To Nigerian Migrant At Refugee Camp In Italy by 4Ebisco(op): 8:22pm On Jan 31, 2018
Becky Moses, a 26-year-old Nigerian woman has died in a Friday night fire incident in a tent city housing hundreds of migrants in San Ferdinando, leading to protests by over 100 other immigrants on Monday.

Some of them held photos of Becky. Two other women were badly hurt and dozens of others received treatment for less serious injuries, La Repubblica reported.

According to the newspaper, Moses had only been staying in the encampment for a few days before her death. She was previously a resident in Riace. However, having recently had her application for political asylum denied, Moses was obliged to leave Riace and had been sleeping instead in a tent in San Ferdinando.

The encampment is home to around 1,000 people living in tents and shacks. Most of the residents work as labourers on local farms.

According to the Italian aid group Doctors for Human Rights (Medu), as many as 3,000 labourers – the majority of them with valid residence permits for Italy – live in the camp at the height of the harvest, working for minimal wages and sleeping without electricity or running water in conditions that the NGO describes as “shamefully inhumane”.

The cause of the fire last weekend is unclear, though smaller blazes in the past have resulted from residents lighting bonfires for warmth. As a result of Monday’s march, USB said, regional authorities have agreed to allow people living in the camp to register as local residents.

CelebritiesExposed! What Men Do With My Pictures - Maheeda by 4Ebisco(op): 11:55am On Jan 29, 2018
Self-acclaimed s-x goddess, Maheeda, is one that has always got tongues wagging anytime she posts her raunchy pictures online.

The singer told Saturday Beats that she was happy to build her brand on s-x; however, she added that it was disgusting to know that some men masturbate to her pictures, videos and that some even send videos of the act to her.

“I would not lie, I am aware that some men masturbate to my pictures online; but personally, it disgusts me. I would be very honest that it disgusts me because they send me some videos of them doing it and telling me that it is what I caused. To be honest, I caused it so there is nothing I can do about it.

“I like the fact that my brand is built on s-x. I love it and it feels like a dream to me because in Nigeria, s-x is still seen as a taboo.

I feel that we need to be more open and educate our children about it. I may not be going about it the right way because nobody is perfect; but hopefully, I would perfect my act,” she said.

Sharing some of her wild sexual exploits, the singer told Saturday Beats that the craziest places she had had sex were in a public restroom and on the beach somewhere outside Nigeria.

“The craziest sexual thing I have done is to have s-x in the restroom and on the beach. There was a time I did it in the restroom and the other ladies were waiting in line to use the restroom. The time I did it at the beach, it was very crazy because people were passing by. I don’t know which was crazier between the two but I think both were crazy,” she told Saturday Beats.

Maheeda admitted that if she had married a Nigerian man, she would not have been ‘s-x--lly outspoken’.

The singer further revealed that it had always been her dream, since she was about seven years old, to marry a white man.

“I know that if I had married a Nigerian, I would not have had this much freedom to talk about s-x; it would have been impossible. I actually married a white guy because it has always been my childhood dream. I never had dolls as a kid, but I noticed that most of my peers that had dolls had white men as fathers.

“I felt that we did not have the good things of life because my guardian was not married to a white man. Since that tender age, I had always nursed the dream of marrying a white man. It was my childhood dream and I made sure it became a reality,” she said.

When asked what her husband feels about her raunchy pictures online, she simply said that he was a supportive husband. Maheeda told Saturday Beats that all her husband asked of her on the matter was never to expose her priv-te parts.

“My husband is not on social media and he is very camera-shy but he is very supportive of everything that I do. Even before we started our relationship, I always told him my plans. He is okay with what I do and he tells me that I am a complete package. He tells me that I am what he asked for and whatever I do is part of the package.

“He said that he has married me and that anything I do comes with the package, so there is nothing he can do about it. He just tells me to try not to open my vagina for everybody to see and I should keep that one for him. That is what I have been doing,” she said.

PoliticsBuhari’s 2nd Term Will Consume Tinubu, Break Nigeria – Iyorchia Ayu by 4Ebisco(op): 4:54am On Jan 27, 2018
Buhari’s 2nd term will consume Tinubu, break Nigeria – Iyorchia Ayu

Former Senate President, Dr Iyorchia Ayu speaks sparingly in public about national issues. Whenever he chooses to speak, he is often down to earth.

In this interview with IHEANACHO NWOSU in Abuja, Ayu who also served as minister at different times spoke on burning matters and happenings in the country especially killings by herdsmen, former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to President Muhammadu Buhari asking him not to seek re-election. He claimed that Buhari’s re-election will spell doom for the country’s unity even as he said it will consume the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. He carpeted Obasanjo under whose administration he held three different ministerial portfolios, describing him as the architect of Nigeria’s current problems.

Prominent Nigerians including you in the last couple of weeks have reacted to killings in some parts of the country especially your state, Benue. Should this be taken that the killings have gotten out of hand?

Nigeria is today facing a very serious national security challenge. It is not located in only one part of the country. Initially, it was as if it was only the North East and Niger Delta areas. Today, this challenge is touching on every part of the country. There are killings in Plateau , Southern Kaduna, Benue , Adamawa ,Taraba , heavily in Zamfara which is an Hausa populated state . There are killings in Katsina , Abia ,Imo. The killings are all over the country.

Killings in Benue have been going on in the last 10 years. But when they escalated, it became necessary to draw the attention of not just Benue indigenes but to everybody. I directed my address to all Nigerians to try and draw attention to this crisis, which is threatening the unity of the country. I will try to explain it in both its regional and national contexts.

First of all, you have to understand that this problem is beyond Nigeria . It is located in the whole of the Sahel region which cuts across most of West Africa particularly Bukina Faso , Mali, Niger, Chad, Dafur ,Northern Nigeria. Most of these places are affected by the increasing problem of the drying up of the water resources , degradation of the forest. This has affected agriculture . This is an area with a population of over 100 million people .

If you look at the climate changes that have taken place in our northern neighbours between 1970 and 1993 you would see that we have had massive drying up of lands in these areas. There have been occasional droughts . These are dramatized all over the world . This invariably is affecting the rural population and its economy.

Most of the rivers in these areas have dried up. The cutting of forests , the drying up of major bodies of water like Lake Chad is a huge problem . In 1963, Lake Chad had a surface body of water of 25,000 square kilometers which served as the bedrock of the economy of the North East , Chad, Niger, Cameroun. The Lake Chad has been drying up over the years. No serious action was taken by the Lake Chad Basin Commission. Today, Lake Chad has barely 1000 square meter of surface water . From 25,000 square meters in 1963 to less than 1000 today . The fishing economy there has gone, the grazing is gone, forestry gone. This affects over two million people.

Related to this is the fact that most of the countries in these areas have gone through tremendous political instability; Dafur , Mali, Chad are worse hit. As a result of the crises that engulfed these countries, they have trained, seasoned fighters.

Most of the migration is coming down South. It is not only decent people that are coming, a lot of cattle and bad people are coming too. Every year, you have a population of two to three million migrants moving down this area.

We are having a mixture of the good and the bad And with ECOWAS protocol , what it means invariably is that you can’t stop these people from coming here. Since they are coming in large numbers with their cattle , you have some that are criminals , terrorists .

This instability has also elements of religion because of the rise of radical Islam in the world particularly in North Africa. We all saw what happened in Mali between 2010 and 2012 when the Islamic radical movement there tried to establish a republic . France had to move in troops in 2013 in most of Southern Mali. Nigeria had to be involved. Many of these people have migrated down South . As they come, they are recruiting people even within Nigeria . So there is problem of migrants outside Nigeria mixing up with people in Northern Nigeria where the desert is ravaging most of our eco system .

With this, Nigeria is facing a long term problem of which if we don’t take time we will be overrun by the massive radical population that is coming from North Africa. Without correct policies we are going to face a serious problem .

The DSS is blaming the Islamic State in West Africa for the crisis

What the DSS said is true but not the whole truth . It is true in the sense that, yes the climate change situation and the rise of radical Islamic movements in West Africa are affecting this mass migration but they have found collaborators within Nigeria. Miyetti Allah has consistently come out to claim some of these killings. Nobody has arrested them . In other words, the DSS seems to have absolved the failings of the Nigerian state in every aspect of policy -whether economic or security related policies -nobody has arrested anybody. Nobody has made any effort to do that. Instead, there is tacit support for this terrorist organisation. In Nigeria, the official organs of security have refused to identify them as terrorists.

Are you saying that your findings show that the militant herders have the support of key emirs and influential people in the North?

I believe they have because Miyetti Allah whose patrons are these five powerful emirs in the North I mentioned earlier , has consistently come out to say that they are responsible for these killings . They have done that consistently . In fact , the Sultan of Sokoto and the Emir of Kano particularly have come out to tacitly support these killings by saying that Fulani people are also being killed . I think such position is largely irresponsible for people of their status . One would have expected them to try and diffuse tension instead of creating more tension . I believe that it is not just an external factor, there is also an internal dimension which is organized.

When I issued my recent statement on the killings I said an organisation within Nigeria, I didn’t just say it is only those coming from outside. If Nigerians do not support those coming from outside, they can’t come into the country and operate so freely and nobody would apprehend them. No single person has been apprehended in the killings in Benue, Southern Kaduna, Plateau, Zamfara. The senator representing one of the districts in Zamfara , Marafa has come out to explain the massive killings going on in Zamfara which is not a Christian state by any means. So, it is not just a strict issue of Islam versus Christianity, it is a question of economics, politics , religion mixed together. Despite the threat posed by this, the Nigerian state is not doing what it is expected to do.

What is your take on the proposed cattle colony as a panacea?

Cattle breeding is a private business. Federal Government can support agriculture-whether you are breeding pigs, goats, chicken etc. Nigeria is not a major cattle breeder in the world. Genuine cattle producer countries have 20 to 30 million cattle . You have such states like U.S, Canada, Australia, Brazil, India, Argentina, Uruguay . These are major cattle producers in the world. None of them is doing what is called cattle colonies . They are doing ranching , modern scientific breeding including genetic engineering of breeding cattle. They breed healthy cattle, ones that are handled by Vet doctors . They breed cattle that do not have foot and mouth disease . In Brazil, the country earns about $5bn from cattle every year. The whole cattle in Brazil are concentrated in only six states – most of them in the North and mid-West . Nobody is moving cattle from one part of the country to the other in Brazil . They are all in ranches . And these ranches are private businesses . I am surprised that in the 21st century even educated Nigerians , some of them who are of Fulani stock , are busy talking of sticking to the old way , a way of life that existed in the United States in the 19th century. That is why you see the cowboy films of people moving with cattle all over the place. Nobody in the modern cattle breeding business is moving cattle from one part of the country to the other.

I believe that the Federal Government and the state governments and private business owners have to come together and develop a more workable policy. The cattle industry is a very important industry . Australia exports beef and bye products of cattle to the tune of five to six billion dollars every year . Brazil exports beef and related products mostly to Russia and Korea and other parts of Europe. They make about five billion dollars from it yearly . This is a billion dollar business. Nigeria exports nothing. The things you see here called cattle are unhealthy. By the time our cattle travel from Maiduguri to Port Harcourt, the meat is so tough, it is useless, it is unhealthy , it is unhygienic. There is so much waste . You don’t use the blood, the horn, the hide. There should be a value chain integrated in the industry of cattle . It is not only beef, not only hide and skin but other related products.

I believe people are simply deceiving Nigerians. When you talk of cattle colonies in Nigeria, it has a history . In the 1950s, Nigeria started something like resettlement programme for Fulani . They became very expensive. What the Northern regional government did was to cancel the resettlement programme and turned into grazing reserves and grazing routes with the 1965 law. They proposed for the creation of 30 grazing reserves in the Northern part of the country . Those are the reserves people are thinking should continue. The only one experimentation I can remember was in Southern Kaduna in a place called Kachia in Zango Kataf . They came there and said they wanted to do a small cattle colony, they were given a piece of land. Few Fulani moved in there on a 30,000 hectares of land . They moved to this grazing reserve at a place called Ruguda in Zango Kataf . In a short time, they expanded that land space to about 100,000 hectares of land . The population increased . They appointed an Emir . It became the staging post of the crisis you are seeing today in Southern Kaduna . That is the cattle colony for you. I believe that we do not need that replicated or multiplied all over the 36 states . Replicating Ruguda in Zango Kataf all over Nigeria means the beginning of massive instability across Nigeria.

How do you react to Obasanjo’s letter and President Buhari’s 2nd term bid?

President Obasanjo was my boss . I served as a minister in three ministries under him. One of them was the Ministry of Environment which was my last ministerial assignment. I have great respect for him . All the leaders I have worked with I hardly come in public to attack them or expose what transpired between me and them. However, let me say that President Obasanjo is the architect of our current Nigeria’s problems. He had a great opportunity to set in motion correct policies including the issue of the green belt in the North, border control . I was also minister of Internal Affairs , I know how much pressure I put on him to improve the border question in Nigeria . President Obasanjo was not interested in these policies. He is somebody who is very opportunistic, a man who wants to always be on the correct side of history. President Obasanjo never planned to exit power, he wanted to continue in office . He talked to me three times to support him but I refused . He comes out and tells lies , he tells people that he is the solution to Nigeria’s problems. But he is the problem of Nigeria. He brought in a successor, virtually imposed on the country a leader he knew very well was terminally ill. A competent man I must say, Umaru Yar’Adua, we were contemporary in the university, we were very close -patriotic, intelligent and he meant well, but he was terminally ill. Obasanjo imposed him on the country . He brought in a weak leader, who had no political experience whatsoever as a running mate . He did that believing that when Yar’Adua leaves the scene, he, President Obasanjo would continue to dominate the political and economic landscape by controlling the weak President Jonathan . Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way. The failure of Jonathan is the failure of General Obasanjo because succession is important in leadership . If you create a weak succession that cannot even carry on whatever policy you have put in place you have failed . People talk today, speak glowingly of Tinubu in Lagos. The success of Tinubu is not because he ruled Lagos for two terms but it is the quality of leadership succession he has established in Lagos . The continuity of policies is the thing that makes Tinubu a successful leader in Lagos and perhaps in Nigeria. Obasanjo is not such a successful leader . He is a man who created problems because the failure of Jonathan produced President Buhari who everybody knew had no capacity to run this country . Obasanjo supported him for his own selfish interest . He thought he was his junior in the army and he, Obasanjo will continue to influence policies . Obasanjo has no moral right to tell Nigerians today that Buhari should leave power.

The proposal by Gen. Obasanjo about a coalition is a subversion of democracy . The coalition he is calling for is undemocratic. It is virtually another military dictatorship Nigerians will not accept . We don’t need coalition . We need elections, we need political parties to come out and throw up competent candidates that can run this country . Nigerians should have a right to elect a leader who is capable of running this country. Somebody well trained in both policy and politics, who can run Nigeria is what we need. We don’t need the contraption that Obasanjo is bringing . He wants to continue to run Nigeria through the backdoor . Nigerians will not accept that.

He talked about PDP and APC being the same, that Nigeria needs a new platform . Are you saying he is not correct on that?

Nigeria has so many political parties , others are coming up. Even the ones he thinks are bad, who destroyed them? Who destroyed PDP? It was President Obasanjo. We formed PDP as an opposition to dictatorship . We formed PDP as a patriotic movement designed to help deepen democracy and develop Nigeria . PDP achieved a lot. First, all the perennial coup plotters were retired from the army. That enabled democratic government to survive for sometime. A number of things were done. Unfortunately, we negotiated succession with the military and they literally imposed Obasanjo on the party who to my mind was not a democrat . He had no democratic temper or credentials. He went ahead removing governors. For instance, he removed Joshua Dariye with eight lawmakers in a House of 24 members. He got five people to remove Alamieyeseigha in Bayelsa. He got a few people to remove Ladoja in Oyo. He held the revenue of Lagos state for almost 14 months .It was an illegality. We are in a federation . Obasanjo never believed or acted as a democratic president . He created the instability we are facing today. So, he has no solution to this country’s problems.

I believe that political parties must be allowed to grow in spite of the difficulties . Those that Nigerians do not want will be rejected . Those that Nigerians think are doing well will be elected . I believe as we struggle along , put in place correct policies including asserting ourselves in the West African sub region, we will get our country back on its feet . We need the region by setting example with good policies . Nigeria has to make sure that governments in West Africa are stable. The success of these governments is the success of our country . We cannot just stand by and do nothing.

The reclamation of Lake Chad, for example, would have been the success of Nigeria. It would have benefitted Nigeria more, we would not have had Boko Haram ravaging the whole of North East. It is the failure of the economic system in Lake Chad Basin that has generated Boko Haram with a pool of army that is very easy to recruit. A leader who understands this domestic and regional problems is what we need , we don’t need a contraption which Obasanjo will continue to influence. In his letter, he said that he will be an active member of the coalition . He has retired as a former Head of State, he should go and sit down and rest.

He also claims Buhari lacks capacity to govern Nigeria

I am not a member of APC. At a point when Obasanjo was destabilizing the PDP which I was a founding member, a number of us left . We joined hands with Tinubu to form Action Congress (AC). We were developing that party with him until it became Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) . I talked to my friend Tinubu, we are very close . I told him that we need to develop the progressive party in Nigeria. He didn’t believe me, he preferred to go and link up with the most right wing group in the North . And that right wing group was headed by Buhari in the name of CPC . At that point I left the party and came back to the PDP. I have known Gen. Buhari when he was the military Head of State, I was a university lecturer then. I know the tyranny that was visited on this country. I refused to be part of that team . I warned Tinubu that he will regret bringing Buhari and imposing him on the party. I believe he is regretting silently without telling Nigerians . But more is to be expected. I am sorry to say that if Buhari is re-elected in 2019, it will not only consume Tinubu , it will consume so many other people. It may even lead to the disintegration of Nigeria.

What should the country do to avert this?

I don’t want this personalization, it is not about Buhari as an individual . Buhari is only part of a wider right wing political movement represented by people like Nasir el-Rufai. There are many others whose names are not being mentioned . Even if you replace Buhari with another one of them, you will still have the same problem. I think Nigerians should be educated to know that this group of people even in the individual state they are ruling don’t mean well for democracy. Tinubu made a mistake. He is a democrat , he is a progressive . He needs to connect with the progressive wing of the North, progressive wing of the East to build a progressive political movement that will advance not only the economy but the stability of Nigeria . Tinubu docked with the most right wing group in the North and that is why we have a problem. He as a progressive has no control. Initially they tried to push him out, that is why they gave huge ministries to people they thought were oppositional to him,Tinubu . The only minister Tinubu nominated and was accepted is Lai Mohammed who is nothing more than a talking parrot. Tinubu has to retrace his steps if Nigeria is going to survive. If that group continues in 2019, they will turn around and be more vicious on Tinubu and his progressives, more vicious on the rest of Nigerians . People will react when this happens. Democracy will suffer. I am sorry to say that the unity of the country will be threatened.

PoliticsKiller Herdsmen: No Protest Will Stop Osinbajo’s Panel — Presidency by 4Ebisco(op): 4:20am On Jan 27, 2018
The Presidency yesterday said that the reported protest against some members of the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s committee on herdsmen/farmers clashes will not stop the committee from performing its assignment.

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association was reported to have rejected the Osinbajo panel because of the inclusion of the Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom and Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku on the panel.

The two state governors are strong supporters of the anti-grazing laws in their states.

Their communities have been attacked by killer herdsmen, resulting in the death of some Nigerians with injuries to many, while others were displaced from their communities.

The Osinbajo committee was set up by the last meeting of the National Economic Council towards finding a solution to the killings in the affected communities.

Speaking with The Nation, the Vice President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, Laolu Akande, said the committee was set up in the interest of all Nigerians, especially the affected communities and parties in the crises.

Stressing that the interest of the administration is to ensure peace and security, he said the Osinbajo panel would leave no stone unturned to ensure peace and security of life and property in the affected communities.

He said: “Our job is to all Nigerians, and in this case, all the affected parties and communities. The interest of the administration is peace and the first duty of government is to provide peace and security of life and property.

“So we note the views of all and welcome their right to their own positions. Government will also do its job to secure the wellbeing of all Nigerians, including those who have expressed their opinions.

“The Working Group has met once already and would continue to meet to ensure that all Nigerians live in peace and security.

“The Group is made up of elected governors including those whose communities are affected.

“And we should not forget that all those serving in states as governors and the Federal Government have sworn to protect the constitution.

“That is the guarantee by law that their actions would be fair and without fear or favour.

“This crisis and the misunderstanding that attends it would be over under the Buhari administration by the special Grace of God.” he stated.

PoliticsFulani Killings: PANDEF Shows Nigerian Government Where To Create Cattle Colonie by 4Ebisco(op): 9:34am On Jan 25, 2018
The Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, Akwa Ibom State chapter, has called on the Federal Government to establish cattle colonies in the vast Sambisa forest which, the Nigeria military had recovered from Boko Haram terrorists.

The forum, in a communiqué jointly signed by Senator Anietie Okon, Senator Ibok Essien, Nduenso Essien, Dr. Effiong Edunam and Prof. Brenda Akpan, said that the recovered territory was large enough to accommodate all the cattle and herdsmen in Nigeria.

The forum which is an umbrella body of oil producing Niger Delta states, warned that it would not allow the creation of cattle colonies in any state in the Niger Delta region, stressing, “Sambisa forest is big enough to accommodate millions of cattle colonies.”

The group rather called on the Federal Government to listen to the voices of Nigerians on restructuring the country which it said would put an end to the myriads of problems facing the country, including the incessant killings of innocent citizens by Fulani herdsmen.

The forum sympathised with the people and government of Benue State over the recent massacre of its people by Fulani herdsmen.

They frowned at the lack of political will by the Federal Government to bring the situation to an end.

The forum said that recent happenings in the country had compelled the people of the region to come together to pursue a common course for the betterment of the state, stressing, “United we stand and divided we fall may be very old but still very relevant. If we must succeed, we have to come together and speak with one voice.”

Politics2019: House Of Reps Change Elections’ Time Table by 4Ebisco(op): 9:27am On Jan 24, 2018
The House of Representatives yesterday changed the order of 2019 general elections’ time table earlier released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Green Chambers effected the change through an unexpected amendment to the Electoral Act (2010)

The change came almost a year after INEC released the time-table for the 2019 general elections.

With the amendment, the National Assembly election is to hold first, followed by gubernatorial and state assembly polls and presidential election to be conducted last.

The amendment was made at the Committee of the whole House, presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Mr Yussuff Lasun.

The lawmakers amended the Act while considering the report of the House Committee on Electoral Matters which proposed amendment of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).

In the time-table released by INEC, Presidential and National Assembly elections were to hold first, while governorship and state assembly would follow.

The House amended section 25 of the Principal Act and substituted it with a new section 25 (1).

According to the section, the elections shall be held in the following order: (a) National Assembly election (b) State Houses of Assembly and Governorship elections (c) Presidential election.

Similarly, section 87 was amended by adding a new section 87 (11) with a marginal note “time for primaries of political parties”.

“The primaries of political parties shall follow the following sequence (i) State House of Assembly (ii) National Assembly (iii) Governorship, and (iv), President.

“The dates for the above stated primaries shall not be held earlier than 120 days and not later than 90 days before the date of elections to the offices.”

The House also amended section 36 to allow running mate of candidate that dies before the conclusion of elections inherit his votes and continue with the process.

Section 35 which states that if before an election a candidate dies, he will be replaced by the next contestant with the highest vote was also amended.

The amendment indicated that if a nominated candidate died in the election process, the next person from the same political party with the second highest votes in the primary election should replace the deceased.

It stated that the name of the new person should be submitted to INEC, which should accept such replacement as if the deceased was alive.

The House also made an increment in the limitation of election expenses to be incurred by candidates for presidential candidates from N1 billion to N5 billion.

It raised the governorship bill from N200 million to N1 billion, while Senatorial and Representatives candidates’ expenses are not to exceed N100 million and N70 million, respectively.

For State Assembly and local government chairmanship elections, candidates’ expenses had been raised from N10 million to N30 million.

Similarly, individual contribution had been jerked up from N1 million to N10 million.

PhonesBefore You Open Your Next Whatsapp Message You Really Need To Watch This Video by 4Ebisco(op): 7:23pm On Jan 23, 2018
Two teenagers were rushed to the hospital after they were found “babbling incoherently” in the early hours of yesterday morning at their home in El Agustino, Peru.

According to MirrorUK, their father claims his two daughters were possessed by a Satanic text message that came through WhatsApp, after he found them playing with a mobile phone.

A video clip showed the girls in their pajamas, lay down on the floor and making strange noises.

They were wailing in a high-pitched voice and mumbling as their family filmed them.

Other pictures show one of the girls being held down in the back of an ambulance as medics worked

to calm her down.

Doctors said the girls were “hysterical” when they arrived at Hipolito Unanue Hospital hospital, reports Correo.

This chilling news comes after equally terrifying footage emerged showing a demon-possessed doll blinking its eyes and nodding its head.

An eerie home security footage shows a haunted doll twisting its head from side to side before objects fly across the room. The girl’s father set up the camera after he says she complained of something bothering her.

Christianity EtcThe Evil Mission Of Pastor Adeboye In Akwa Ibom State By Inibehe Effiong by 4Ebisco(op): 6:43pm On Jan 23, 2018
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is part of the problems we have in Nigeria. If Jesus Christ was like Adeboye, only the rich and influential would be qualified to be a Christian.

Any religious leader that aids and abets the criminality of political leaders is part of the criminality.

Pastor Adeboye went to Akwa Ibom State on Sunday 21st January, 2018 to lay the foundation of a senseless project called the “International Worship Centre” which we are told by state officials will cost a whopping N10 billion.

One year ago, a Church collapsed in Akwa Ibom State killing worshippers because the lawless founder of the Church, Akan Weeks, was not ready to comply with basic building regulations in his desperate bid to be consecrated a bishop by all means.

Till date, the Akwa Ibom State Government has not compensated the families of the bereaved. The medical bill of the victims is yet to be fully paid. We understand that the government is unable to raise N100m to offset the medical expenses of those who were treated. Nobody has been prosecuted for the collapsed Church building. The report of the Judicial Commission of Inquiry empanelled by the governor to divert attention has been buried. The governor who escaped death during the ill-fated bishopric consecration of his friend, Akan Weeks, is still dancing on the graves of the dead.

That is the man that wants to bribe God with an international worship centre. That is the type of heartless governor that Pastor Adeboye is proud to be associated with, the same governor who rode to power in 2015 on the blood of Akwa Ibom people.

The latest publication by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) places the unemployment rate in Akwa Ibom State as the second highest in Nigeria. This is a state that received over N2 trillion from 2007 to 2015 in federal allocations; the same state that is still receiving the larger percentage of monthly federal allocations.

In Akwa Ibom State today, there is no single industry where 500 people can be gainfully employed. Majority of the youths have been turned to beggars who depend on politicians for survival. The poverty rate in Akwa Ibom State is scandalous. Uncompleted white elephant projects are littered across the state because of alleged paucity of funds; yet, the government is constructing a multi-billion Naira sepulcher in the name of a state worship centre.

The black man is in need of redemption. Our leaders have gone mad again.

The state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, is presently building a multi-billion Naira lodge for himself in Lagos State. Despite street protests in Uyo and Lagos by hundreds of Akwa Ibom people against the new Lagos lodge which I was privileged to have led and spearheaded, the governor has chosen to listen to his animalistic instinct rather than the voice of the people by going ahead to construct the new lodge in Lagos State.

The same Udom Emmanuel completed a state-of-the-art edifice for himself in his hometown, Awa, in Onna Local Government Area, within the first six months of his clueless administration. This is a man who publicly boasted about his attainment of a Business School.

Churches are scattered and littered across the length and breadth of Akwa Ibom State. Yet, iniquity is thriving in the state. Politicians are stealing with impunity. The true gospel of salvation and holiness has been replaced with prosperity preaching by many of the so-called pastors in the state. Most politicians see Churches as an extension of the state government.

Many pastors in Akwa Ibom State are engaged in partisan politics. The likes of Archbishop Elijah Mboho, Bishop Cletus Bassey and other pro-government preachers are using religion to give legitimacy to the criminality of the corrupt politicians in Akwa Ibom State.

Pastor Adeboye shamelessly went to lay the foundation of a project that is totally useless to the long suffering people of Akwa Ibom State without introspection. Why has our so-called religiosity not translated into a better country? Nigerians are the modern day Pharisees.

Akwa Ibom State is not a Christian state. We have Muslims, Atheists, Traditionalists and people of other religious persuasions in the state. It is not the business of the government to build a Church. Section 10 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended) states that ‘’The Government of the Federation or of a State shall not adopt any religion as State Religion”. Therefore, Mr. Emmanuel has no business dissipating public funds in building “an international worship centre”.

The suggestion by the state government that some yet to be named Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) will contribute the larger percentage of the cost of the ‘state Church’ is an irresponsible lie. Sensible NGOs do not engage in frivolous religious adventures. They work towards alleviating poverty and improving the standard of life of the people. Nobody is deceived except the gullible.

Did Papa Adeboye ask his host whether pensioners and civil servants have been paid in the state? Did he bother to query Udom Emmanuel on why a government that is running under a secular Constitution should be building a religious centre with public funds and tax payer’s money? Did Adeboye ask Udom Emmanuel why his state is rated the second highest in the country in unemployment despite the stupendous allocations accruing to it?

What exactly is the interest of Adeboye in Akwa Ibom State? Is Jesus Christ proud of Adeboye’s collusion with failed political leaders? I am disgusted by the reprehensible complicity of Pastor Adeboye in the looting and destruction of Akwa Ibom State. Adeboye may have forgotten that judgment will start from the Church.

Let it be known that God is not mocked. The manipulation of religion in Nigeria by corrupt politicians in connivance with commercial pastors will not go unpunished.

More Photos from the foundation laying ceremony in earlier thread https://www.nairaland.com/4303251/pastor-adeboye-lays-foundation-akwa
Pastor Adeboye is not God.

If you want to incur the maximum wrath of a typical Nigerian, speak against his General Overseer or Daddy GO (spiritual leader) or his political leader. The way these religious leaders are venerated gives the impression that God has Nigerian pastors as deputies, who can command the day to turn to night.

Some people are incandescent with rage over my response to Pastor Adeboye's scandalous involvement in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the so-called international worship centre initiated by governor Udom Emmanuel.

The Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Mr. Akan Okon, stated that the project will cost N10 billion.

Some commentators felt that I should have insulated Daddy Adeboye from my "furious commentary". I couldn't have excused the role of the head of the Redeemed Christian Church. He is part of the shenanigans.

Those who are conversant with Akwa Ibom know that Adeboye is a regular guest of governor Udom Emmanuel. It is deceitful for some people to pretend that Adeboye's ill-motivated action was isolated. We need to know the interest of Adeboye in Akwa Ibom State?

Adeboye cannot be going about giving false legitimacy to the brazen criminality and atrocious actions and policies of the Akwa Ibom State Governor and expect some of us to salute him simply because he is venerated by his members and followers. It cannot work that way.

The prophets of old, the Biblical prophets who served the living God, were never accustomed to winning and dinning with political leaders, especially corrupt and bad leaders. On the contrary, they were known for speaking truth to power and delivering blistering messages to the Kings and the people to repent of their evil ways.

Prophets Nehemiah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel were not friends of Kings. These were men that God used to deliver strong messages to corrupt leaderships.

Today, corrupt politicians depend largely on our Daddy GOs to validate their imbecilic, despotic and corrupt actions. Let Pastor Adeboye stay away from the government of Akwa Ibom State. As long as he continues to dance with people like Udom Emmanuel, some of us will continue to take him to the cleaners.

Adeboye is not God, at least not my God. Those invoking curses over my viral article should know that I am not perturbed in any way. Only God Almighty can determine my life on this earth. Jesus Christ was repeatedly challenged in the Temple and He never invoked death on His critics.

Stop telling me about the "touch not my prophet" scripture. You cannot appropriate the scripture selfishly the way you like. Let Adeboye demonstrate to some of us with his actions that he is the Lord's annoited and the Lord's prophet by emulating the prophets of old.

As a citizen of Nigeria, I will continue to express myself on issues that affects me no matter whose ox is gored. We will never be intimidated.

The revolution will continue.
