The army has confirmed the killing of 66 people in the attack on Kajuru Local Government Area Of Kaduna State.
The General Officer Commanding One Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Faruk Yahaya, said that 37 out of the 66 people killed were buried in a shallow grave near a river bank in Kajuru.
This confirmation comes amid conflicting narratives on what could have triggered the recent conflict as well as the casualty figures, just as some questioned the veracity of the story about the attacks, said have been carried out on Maro, Ungwar Barde, Iri and Kutora communities.
According to a community leader, gunmen had attacked Ungwar Barde village killing scores of people and burning down houses on Monday night, February 11, 2019.
He said this led to a reprisal in three other communities that also left several people dead and many others injured.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, accompanied by the GOC One Division and Commissioner of Police in the state, has visited the communities where they held a meeting with the leaders with a view to identifying the remote and immediate cause of the crisis.
The governor expressed dismay over the attempt by some people to politicise the killings, adding that there was a deliberate plan to frustrate the government’s efforts towards fostering an atmosphere of peace in the communities.
On his part, the commissioner of police in the state, Ahmad Abdurahman, said that seven suspects had been arrested over the killings.
Kajuru Local Government Area has over the years been in the news as a result of violence resulting from ethno-religious conflicts, cattle rustling and kidnapping.
In 2018, an ethno-religious crisis in Kasuwan Magani, also in the same local government area, left over 100 people dead and property worth millions destroyed.

When they call us monkeys I wonder why we grown at it. Blacks behaves like animals, it will be very unfair to call the western world humans and call us humans too, we behave just like animals, no respect for each other, we can't rule ourselves, give us guns we start killing ourselves, for absolutely no reason...

Blacks are just animals... It's a pity, but the truth just has to be said, the earlier we start realising this, the better it will be for all of us.

But your source says 2015...

Now can you honestly say if it has not gotten really worse now?

We always had pre and post election violence with pockets of religious violence, now we have serious ethno religious crisis accompanied with terrorism and a tyrannical governor.

Yet some bastards here, who were conceived, bore, and raised in undiluted HATE, called it propaganda.

Sometimes I wish someone could simply use a fiat to carve that demon infested enclave out of this country so they can peacefully live with themselves in their hate.

How could any human with a soul see these gory images of innocent kids and not be moved?

God forbid.

That was caused when Sharia law was to be implemented in Kaduna and the people refused having been a state split amongst various religions in good quantities.

Now they kill for no reason.. bandits, kidnappings, armed robbery and religious violence is prime.

My condolences to all the innocent Fulani herdsmen who were victims of these killings. May God grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.

I hereby urge you as good citizens of this country not to retaliate but leave things in the hand of Almighty Allah.

We can only be praying for permanent PEACE in Kaduna but Kaduna has been a hot place for a very long time. Maybe you're relying on media, but visit Kaduna today and see yourself.
The issue has been about tribe and religion. The self acclaimed indigenous people always sees the Hausa/Fulani as their enemy and vas versa.

Yes! I get you now.

The killings of innocent people was a reasonable thing back then, but now it makes no sense, right?

FYI, the riots were between the Muslim communities and the Christian communities just like today, it was not just a random protest.

Just as it was Sharia law then, land and resource control seems to be main concern now, which is a general theme across the country since the last days of the PDP in power.

Who can blame them tho, PDP had a major role to play in the current situation we find ourselves in the country.

Yet, I will rather condemn violence for what it is instead of using it to score a cheap political point.

I hope you do the same.

Have a nice day.

Okay good, am no supporter of violence myself, but Land and resource control was never a major problem because every divide knew their reach I guess... which can be addressed to the protest on your link.
