Don’t Cross The Line, Onyeama Advises Diplomatic Community by Nkemakonam62: 6:53am On Feb 21, 2019
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, has warned the diplomatic community against crossing the line on governance in Nigeria.

Onyeama who briefed the diplomatic community on the rescheduled general elections in Abuja said the community could not exhort Nigeria on good governance and dictating to the country on how to govern.

The meeting which held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was to interact with the diplomatic corps to clarify issues surrounding the postponement of the elections and the country’s readiness as the polls come up on Saturday.

In the run-up to the elections, the Federal Government had on several occasions raised concerns about what it described as interference from foreign bodies.

Onyeama said: “At the end of the day, we are a sovereign nation and the line shouldn’t be crossed from exhorting us and wanting us to succeed and wanting this to be a really democratic process to dictating to us and really getting into the nitty-gritty of how we run the country which is exclusively the responsibility of this government.”

Why are they jittery? All America wants to do is to observe, if the government does not have any sinister motive why worry, is this the first election conducted, the kind of suffering and sanction that will hit Nigeria if APC wins will be more than imagine, the rudeness is just too much.

Even our visa policy will be reviewed, the worst is yet to come.

APC already panicking at the interest of foreign groups in our election.

If Buhari delivered even 15% of his electoral promises, these jittery statements would have been unnecessary.

Now APC is all over the place like a man selling expired products.

This chest beating 'we are a sovereign nation' is akin to a husband losing control of his household screaming "I'M THE MAN OF THIS HOUSE ... YOU HEAR ME"

A sovereign nation that cannot medically treat its president or rich undecided
A sovereign nation that has thousands of migrants fleeing on boats through the Mediterranean undecided

Was the Gambia not a sovereign nation before this Buhari administration led the offensive to bully Yahya Jammeh out of office? You guys better get ready to leave the rock with your gross incompetence. May 29 is coming!

What u dont understand is that there is an intelligence report of Obasanjo using foreign country to interfere in our election which is totally unacceptable. That will never be allowed to happen.

No line will be allowed to be crossed oga - by them or by you. If you cross the lines, they'll jump it. Sovereign nation indeed. You know why UN is there? You know about the institution in Hague? Libya and Egypt were sovereign states. Zimbabwe and Cote d'voire too. Goan ask.

Wicked people run when no one is chasing them. My people say when suddenly a hen starts running fast, it means it has farted and the ground is chasing. Tell me, will the hen succeed in running away from mother earth?

We are watching you. Comman do bad thing this period and see what will happen. In fact, I prophesy: "a politician shall be lynched by the people this season"

grin all election conducted in African nation have been observed by foreign commissions even with people attracted from Nigeria. Jonathan have played a lead roles in that even when the observers didn't show support to the incumbent they still went there to do their job. why are APC against international observers? its very clear for all to see that they want to forced themselves to power.

what ever happened here affect these foreign nations. Nigerians flee daily to their countries to cause a lot of problem there. look at Ghana for example. Nigerians are giving them problem there. so why won't Ghanaian observer come to witness the election that would bring stability and reduce their problem with Nigerians in their countries.

Nigeria was a British creation and Nigerians never agreed to live together but it was forces on us. and everything happening here should be their concern. to know if we are a sovereign nation we should go for a referendum and let Nigeria decide how to live their life before talking about sovereignty.

shocked These idiots never remembered:
-When they went cap-in-hand as a band of senseless opposition elements to beg the US to prevail on the then govt to conduct a credible election which though still flawed, they immensely benefiitted from?

-Same idiots received in audience the then Sec.of State John Kerry on a state visit to Northern Nigeria with utter disregard to a then sitting president because of his personal & national antagonism towards the LGBT & same sex marriage issue.

-A delegation of two Nigerien governors and hoardes of unspecified supporters entered & violate Nigeria's sovereignity & our electoral process by crossing our ever porous border into Kano to campaign for a failed president Buhari while he endorsed the babanriga dollar bribe stuffing scandal crook-Ganduje for a second term in office.Yet these idiots see no inference in that unpatriotic act.

- APC pro but then renegade PDP governors went on a jamboree in the US to whip up anti-PDP sentiments in their inordinate quest to attain power.

- APC members wrote the US & other world nations not to sell weapons to the then Jonathan govt citing human right abuses which they've done worst ever since.Even botching a legitimate operation for Nigeria to buy weapon from SA.

- Buhari have been on chronic health tourism in a cosy London hospital shamelessly seeking healthcare even against his govt policy.Meanwhile, the Country have also continued to solicit aids from all these nations it's now antagonizing.

-Same APC elements fractured the sovereignity of the Nigerian nation with their inflammatory speeches e.g.the Rotimi Amaechi's infamous "APC will form a parallel government" speech?

The hypocrisy of this senseless & uselessness Buhari government is so nauseating.

". . .the community could not exhort Nigeria on good governance and dictating to the country on how to govern."

Why won't they dictate when you guys have decided to work hard to always move backwards. Yet you deposit your families in their country to keep inconveniencing them by sharing in the better system they have consciously created for themselves as well. But you are comfortable with your fellow cabal holding the country ransom.

Ignoramus.

The UN has no right to intrude upon a nation's sovereignty.

When was the last time the US obeyed any ICJ ruling?

Ignorant peeps be shouting "Hague, Hague, Hague!".

The judgement of Hague isn't binding on any nation.
